Re: Stockton Beach Meet-up

We better get ourselves a hand held i reckon

funny story;
A mate who maybe coming for the Saturday has been to stockton with his Hilux ute about 4 times already.

Said it absolutley full on with 4WD's, Quads
motorbikes, jetskis u name it.

Anyway, last trip he saw a Pajero tackling one of the larger dunes.

As he was headin up, the rear bumper was picking up sand & pulling against the direction he was goin (because Pajeros sit fairly low & the bumper curves under like a scoop).

The driver kept on the gas & was determined to concure the dune.

Well as u can imagine, about half way up the dune won.

The entire rear bumper got totally ripped off the back of his Pajero.

Not a happy camper but, a lesson to be learnt...

Re: Stockton Beach Meet-up

Hey everyone,

For those of you who may be going to stockton on the 19/3/05 and staying the night,
I was just wondering how many people would be interested in doing another track after the beach (maybe Sunday).
This is just a suggestion and if anyone has any suggestions lets pick a couple.
I do not know any where, I do work with someone that lives on 77acres around cooranbong and supposed to have a few 4wd tracks and have been given the ok to enter.

Re: Stockton Beach Meet-up

Hi Boyz,

I'm now fully ready to stay overnight at the Stockton meet-up emoticon

I'll be tenting it emoticon 1st time in my life, so it should be fun. I did sleep outdoors, but never in a tent emoticon "the good old days of being young and lovin it"

I bought this camping gear for $100 (not sure if I got ripped-off, but I highly doubt it)

Shane: Good suggestion about the Sunday follow-up adventure, but it depends what time we gonna wake-up on Sunday morning emoticon I guess we can discuss it Saturday night.

Re: Stockton Beach Meet-up

jalal and others,

If we located maps that ran through the state forest we could possibly travel from up that way and head back through Watagans. Maybe Richi, Pete might be able to locate a suitable trip or if Dennis knows some local tracks.

Re: Stockton Beach Meet-up

Hi Guys.
You could do a trip from Freemans Waterhole back to Wyong through the Watagans, it would be a bit similiar to that when we went with Peter a few months ago.
" Gregorys 4WD Weekends " publication has details etc. I will give you details if your interested. We wont be able to go as we have Grand sons 4th Birthday party on that day.

Cheers

Re: Stockton Beach Meet-up

Hi Folks.
Just found by accident a good rundown of
" Dune Days on Stockton Beach " on the MyNRMA site. Gives you a good idea what to expect & also some handy hints. Good reading for experienced or those not so experienced. Pity I didn't find it prior to my last outing on Stocko, I may have avoided being bogged etc.
