posticon Stockton Beach Meet-up (OLD Event)

Hi Guys,

For those of you in Sydney/NSW (sorry other states and countries emoticon ) we will be trying to organise a beach driving adventure at the lovely Stockton Beach-Central Coast.

Let's hear it from you guys who will be interested and what times and dates you have in mind.

My suggestion would be the Easter weekend in March, where we could spend a weekend there, do some beach driving (in the company of our beach driving experts Dennis & Val of course) emoticon do some driving around the area, have BBQ's, drinks and the works and then head back home.

This will be my 1st beach driving experiense and am looking forward to it.

The suggestion box is now open.

Re: Stockton Beach Meet-up

Hi Guys.
Easter weekend is o.k. by us.
Will check out accommodation at Motels, Caravan parks for Cabins etc. It may be busy at that time of year, but local knowledge will be an advantage.I'll let you know details ASAP.
A booking of 4 to 8 rooms or cabins etc. may be to our advantage & also a bit cheaper.
What sort of accomodation do most people want & for how many nights? Nelson Bay, Anna Bay & Birubi would be the closest to Stockton Beach.I'm open to any ideas.

Re: Stockton Beach Meet-up

Hi Dennis & Val,

Thanks very much for organising this for us.

I was thinking of staying there for 2 nights (Friday the 25th and Saturday the 26th of March) and head back home on Sunday.

We're not after anything fancy in terms of accommodation, so a small cabin that can accommodate a family of 2 adults and 2 kids with bathroom facilities, will be more than enough for us.

P.S. The above dates are just my personal suggestion, if any of you guys want to stay there for 1 night, am fine with that as well.

Hi guys.
Phoned about 6-8 caravan parks today in Port Stephens re cabins & accommodation etc for Easter. They all have a minimun of 3-4 nights stay starting at about $120 per night. All heavily booked & state it is peak time with Easter & school holidays.Stockton Caravan Park is $336 for 3 nights for 2 Adults + 2.
It is about 20/30 minutes drive from Nelson Bay.They all Know how to "cash in" at holiday time.We may have to consider another weekend.I will make some more enquiries through Port Stephens Tourist Information Centre Web site. I will let you know the results.

Re: Stockton Beach Meet-up

Thanks Dennis, much appreciated.

3-4 nights of beach driving is a bit too much fun for us to have this Easter emoticon

If the accommodation situation will be a pain for the Easter weekend, it would be best for us to have a back-up plan/date.

Re: Stockton Beach Meet-up

Xtrailers,

Have just sent an email to Birubu Caravan Park under my employers name and will hopefully recieve a good price. As previously stated that there facilities were good, each Tent site had own toilet and shower facilities. For those who may be interested. Please advise.

It is located at Ana Bay and entry to bach is close.
