Re: road trip - road trip - road trip Ok, two possible tracks that we could do, that are not real offroad, but Forest Trail and great places to visit/tour. Both are from the Boilybilly book "4wd treks close to Sydney'
1. Watagan State Forest. Starts at Wyong so easy to get to. Lots of places to stop and look at. Track length is 73 kms so a good balance of drive and recreation. Track is very easy but if you havnt been there before it is good as it shows off a great area for exploration and camping.
2. The Hunter range (Putty State Forest) starts about 90 km north of windsor. Again the track is easy. There is one spot at the end which is rutted but no challenge or anything. Again a great drive. It is about 93kms long
If we want to use the opportunity to get together, have lunch, see things., for drivers of various skills and car concerns. I recommend the watagans. Its very easy to get to (up freeway). The Hunter Range trip can be a long day - the trip there and back takes awhile. Both okay for kids.
As for the day. around 25th or 26 Sep sounded good (but basshead are you still looking at yellow flowers in oberon.
So I think the best thing to do is: for those keen reply here with prefered options (watagan/hunter/either)
date and if available on later weekends.
I think we should try and make a plan by Thurday so everyone can organise things.
We need a weekend longer trip to meet up with other states:
Re: road trip - road trip - road trip sorry about the delay, lost my phoneline for a few days
I think watagans on 25, with meeting times and other arrangments to be sorted later
for planning its less then 2 hours from Sydnet (wyong)
I also wanted to see if it was ok for rich
