Hi DaveQ
We have an X Trail STR and would love to go on day trips/camping etc. We live near Greenbank so any SE QLD/N NSW spot would be great. Anywhere that doesn't need a winch and we should be fine! Please keep us up to date and we should be a definite. We both work monday-friday but weekends are great. Excellent idea Dave.
Regards

Re: Calling all Brisbane Xtrailers

Hi Shawn & Belinda
This Saturday (13th) we are going day tripping to Noosa North Shore. At this stage there are two x-trails going. You could be the third. If you are interested either reply to this post or goto the events forum and reply there.

If you decide to come, there are two meet up options.
1. Meet at Northside of Noosa river where boat drops you off @ 9:30am.
http://www.noosaeguide.com/noosa_information_maps.php#S
or
2. We live on northside (Nundah) so could meet you at the Nundah/Airport Gateway exit @ 7:30am.

Let us know your thoughts.

PS: Trip will be easy sand driving
PSS: Do you have a UHF?

Re: Calling all Brisbane Xtrailers

Weekend Re-cap

Hi All,
Well the Noosa North Shore trip was great. Just two x-trails made the trip but that did not stop us from enjoying the day.

We arrived at the barge @ 9:30am and met up with Darryl & Robbie (Series 2 ST). From there we drove to the beach access point. We let our tyres down to 18psi (Soft sand beach access).

This was were the excitment began...

Our x-trail don't seem to be traveling very well in the soft sand. I mentioned to my wife that the car felt strange and that we seemed to be doing it tough compared to the other xtrail. Not long after this we were bogged!! emoticon It was at this stage that I looked at the dash and saw that the 4WD light was flashing (owners manual states that this means that the difference between the wheels is too great) So this is what I think happened - the car had been in at Nissan getting a rear wheel bearing replaced on the Friday, now whether that caused a computer error or not who knows, anyway I am sure that the 4WD did not lock in when I turned the dial (entering the beach). However after turning the car off and than on again the car seemed to sort itself out??

We got pulled out of the sand by a "snatch happy" hilux driver and we were on our way (Used recovery bridal 2x 3 1/4t shackles and 4t sling).

The rest of the day went without a problem. We went to the wreck and across to Rainbow beach. (All very interesting)

Photos will be posted shortly (all going well).

Thanks Darryl&Robbie for showing us around the area.

Stay tuned for more Brisbane xtrail opptunites. Remember, anyone can organise a day out. If you don't mind travelling with others, post your trip plans.

Regards

DaveQ

Re: Calling all Brisbane Xtrailers - Round 2

We have just registered and would be keen to gather with other X-Trail owners in the future. Unfortunately, 12 March is out but would be interested in future gatherings. We have had our X-Trail for two plus years and have travelled outback Queensland and through SA and Kangaroo Island. Plan a trip along the Plenty Highway to Alice Springs area for a month in Sep/Oct and then on the WA for another month.
Cheers
Bev
