Re: X-Trail Xmas

Excellent Shane.

Myself and Peter will do a run through the National Park tomorrow to pick some spots for us to drive through on the day and have a BBQ and we will post our findings here (including directions, meet-up point..etc) soon.

Stay tuned.

X-Trail Xmas Meet-up details

Hi Guys,

Today myself and Peter went for a drive through the National Park and Stanwell to check-out some nice spots (thanks Pete) and the area seemed OK for us to meet and organise a BBQ, so here are the details and directions:

1. The meet-up will take place at the car park of the Waterfall Train Station (off the Princes Highway) at 10:30am on the 9th of January. We will allow 10 mins wait time for anyone running late, after that anyone that feels that they can not make it on time, just follow the direction below to meet us at the picnic area.

2. Our picnic destination is Stanwell Park Picnic Grounds

3. For those who are making their own way to the picnic area:

Take the 1st entry into the Royal National Park (off the Princes Highway-Sutherland) and continue in a stright line until you get to the John Holland Bridge (i.e. the Bulli crossing) and continue straight following a road sign saying Stanwell Park/Tops.

You will get to the following crossing
Image

If you're coming from Helensburgh, turn right and if you're coming from the National Park, turn left.

Once you turn at this intersection, drive for about 1.3Kms and you will see this sign on your left handside.
Image

Take this entry and turn left at Station Street (just at the corner of Peppis Corner Shop) follow this street to the end and you are there.

The total distance from the John Holland Bridge to the picnic area is 13.9Kms

Here are some pics of the picnic area

And this what you can expect to see on your way to the picnic area

As I suggested before, it's BYO drinks and any type of BBQ stuff and food you wish to bring along.

See ya all there.

Jalal, looks a great spot.

Whats the situation with BBQ's on Sunday. Are their electric ones there, or do we need to bring our own, or share ? (....since I dont have a portable one to bring emoticon )

cheers
Geoff.

Hi Geoff,

I hope you guys like the spot as myself and Peter did some driving around and this was the best spot we could find.

There are 2 electrical BBQ's there and they're free to use, so I guess we would use them, but I will also bring my portable BBQ (just in case)

Peter and his family will drive there a head of us to reseve a good spot and the BBQ warmed-up for us when we get there emoticon

Hi Shane,

This time it's a social get together with xtrailers and their families, so apart from a 1 hour drive through the beutifull national park on "normal roads", there isn't gonna be any 4wdriving this time (sorry) emoticon

And no, am not afraid to get my beloved exy a bit dirty (as others have witnessed) it's just that I really don't want to spend time washing it on that particular day after having more than a couple of drinks with you guys. Plus, I will have my 1 year old on board, who's not very familiar with the 4WD concept just yet emoticon

We will sure plan some future trips for 2005 on the day and I might be able to convince my 1 year old to join us on those emoticon
