Re: Stockton Beach. Oct 23

Hey Darryl & any other interested X-Trailers, we will make the Stockton Beach trip on Saturday 23rd October. A meeting point can be arranged at either Lavis lane Williamtown or at Anna Bay.Probably meet at 10.00am & finish up at about 3.00pm.
We are very flexible & will fit into any ideas you have. Going North from Williamtown to Anna Bay along the beach would be the the better option. Not a very difficult drive but adventureous & great for photos.

Anyone interested please let me know.

Final details will be worked out later.

Dennis & Val

Sorry guys. I can't make this trip with you this time, as I already got something on with the family that weekend.

Looks very adventurous though and I've read some pretty good reports about the beach as well.

Re: Stockton Beach. Oct 23

Met up with Darryl,Robyn & 3 friends as arranged at Lavis Lane Williamtown.Proceded along to the Dunes & beach with no difficulities at all after deflating our tyres down to 16 p.s.i.
The visitors were amazed with the vast expanse of the area covered by the sand & the width and height of some of the dunes.
We did not challenge ourselves or the vehicle by negotiating the larger dunes, but I know from experience that the EXY is quite capable of handling its self ok on Stockton Beach. We had a good time with the smaller humps & bumps
I pointed out some features of the area to the others as we headed south to the "Synga" wreck ( not much left since it was grounded in 1974)for a well earned morning tea,our 3 1/2 year old grand son James had a great time in the sand & water but was reluctant to leave. The chance of seeing a Dolphin or Whale somewhere else encouraged him to move on.
We then headed north following the other tracks but deviated a little along the beach at times & also in the dunes until we found "TIN CITY" a community of approx. 6-8 dwellings with Solar power & other facilities in the middle of stockton beach.A sight to be seen.
We then headed further North to the exit at Birubi Point where we inflated our tyres & had a couple of drinks at the Anna Bay Tavern to conduct a Post Mortem of the days activities.
We all had great day & the Exy's performed well.

Thanks for your company & frienship Darryl,Robyn & friends.Hope to meet up with you in your area soon.

We have a couple of photos but are unsure about how to put them onto this site.We have limited knowledge in this regard.

Regards
Dennis & Val

If they are digital photos, You can add them into the site yourself using your forum login:

http://xtrail.australia4wd.com/uploadlogin.html

although they will probably have to be shrunk down to "web" size from your digitial camera first.

Or, send 1 or 2 raw to me at geoffrey_n_mathers@yahoo.com

Re: Stockton Beach. Oct 23

Hi all, Got home from our trip yesterday. Racked up 4500kms on your beautiful NSW coast and hinterland and only went as far south as Newcastle.
Many thanks to Dennis Val and James for looking after us at Stockton. It would have been a daunting prospect for us to tackle without their local knowledge. We all had a fantastic day in a landscape we had never experienced before. So much sand and so many dunes and so much sand and sand... A must do for anyone passing through the area.Once again many thanks Dennis and Val and please contact us if up our way.
