Re: Meet Up June 2004

Thanks Peter, this was a great 1st 4WD time experience for me.

I could not resist not washing the car last night when we got back emoticon and this morning I was stunned by the number of scratches emoticon

I'm taking a day-off to bring my black beauty to its shiny condition (if I can).

But I have no regrets whatsoever about going on this trip.

At least I can now say, "Been there and done THAT!!"

Will I do it again, it's a different matter all together, as me and my wife decided we're more of camping fans emoticon

HERE is the link to all the photos we took during our 4WD adventure with some on-line comments. You guys are free to copy these photos and use them if you like emoticon

Thanks again, it was great.

Re: Meet Up June 2004

Our family had a great day and enjoyed meeting everyone.

Jalal, some great pictures. I am really sorry that you have been left with scratches, I tried to pick a track that wouldnt do that, so I am disappointed that has happened. There is a pretty good poly glaze product that may help.

Once again thanks everyone for a great day.

Hi Peter, it's not the track that caused this, rather my in-experience in off-road driving emoticon

What is the name of the product that you're referring to and where I can get it from?

I washed and polished the car today, so it looks much better and the scratches are less visible (but still there) I didn't want to buff the car, as it has paint protection.

PS. I have moved the comments about the X-Trail accessories to a more appropriate topic that was created specifically for this purpose.

Here's all my photos...

http://www.datazap.net/sites/basshead/xtrail1_index.html (Note, you may need to use a different browser other than IE, as IE only appears to display the photo file names and not the actual clickable thumbnails like my Amiga browser and Google Chrome does).

Sorry about the low quality on my website... I have run out of space and don't have the time at the moment to work out which other photos I want to delete. Feel free to email me (as indicated on webpage) for much better quality photos to be emailed to you.

Don't panic if it takes me a day or two to email them to you - I only have access to net @ home after work (starting late today, in case you were wondering why I was on now emoticon ).

editted 5/1/10 - updated photos link

scratches

Jalal
The product a few of my friends use is Glide on Glaze - will give good protective cover and help minor scratches, car has to be very very clean to put it on otherwise you will lock in the dust.
It is available at most auto shops. There are different varients so just check the labels for your car.
cheers
Peter

Jalal, that xtrak link doesn't seem to be working...

Hi Rich,

Very cool photos, I've sent you an email asking for some of them.

The xtrak web site is now working (but it's very slow loading), I think they had their scheduled site maintenance or something.
