Re: GT Update
Yeah, ears have been burning
X-Trail has been playing up lately and not had the time to diagnose the problem yet. Not much news to report but hope to post some old pics of the car up in the next few days. My Editor has asked me not to post any pics from Feb onwards to keep up the mystery of what the cars will look like for the magazine cover... Lets just say, the X-Trail is at the panel beaters
As Rich said, I have been concentrating on my SSS Pulsar which just got 203Kw@wheels. Hopefully, the X-Trail will be back on Thursday and get the problems sorted. Then onto the Dyno and see how well the CVT performs.
Got my new PC up and running a few weeks ago, it was a home built PC(I also have a IT Degree from SCU) and was only waiting on a few part prices to come down. Very happy with what I now got
Will post some of the X-Trail pics I have when I can get them hosted/upload/linked.
I believe Rich was keen to see what my SSS could muster up on the dyno.
Talk to you all soon,
Matt

Re: GT Update
MAtt: That is one hot looking power curve you got there man. Where's the Torque Curve? There's usually a corresponding graph showing torque as well.
Any plans on getting the Exxy strapped to the Dyno?

Re: GT Update
There is a torque curve on that graph... Just not the a curve but rather quite flat!
Without a turbocharger, there is not major torque increase and I have tuned the 'torque peaks' out of the engine so it pulls like a tractor from just above idle.
Sudden torque peaks can cause loss of traction/wheelspin and I am trying to avoid lost traction when seeking a low 12 second pass! I have over 220Nm@engine from just above idle thru to redline.
The X-Trail has seen dyno time previously for 242Kw@wheels but the CVT was slipping very badly with the 640Nm of torque it was trying to handle. A Gen III V8 Commodore only has 450Nm so the GT does get up and move when provoked.
On the SR20forum site, they are comparing the SR20VET motor to the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S which weighs more than an X-Trail but has similiar power to my car.
