NO FUEL CARD YET FOR NEW XTRAIL PURCHASED NOV 2005

Hello people and your not going to believe what I am about to tell you so listen up.

I purchased my new Xtrail in November 2005 with a $1000 fuel card (not delivered yet and its almost March 2006). It all started when I called the dealer in early January 2006 to enquire about the card. The dealer advised that they will call me when it comes. I thought ok I will give them 2 weeks. Its now mid january so I called dealer again and they said it will be here in a week as they spoke with Nissan Aust. In late January 2006 I called Nissan Australia (they need more customer service people to improve their customer support). Nissan advised that they sent the card to the dealer in November 2005. After telling them what the dealer said they said they would call dealer. An hour later the dealer called me!!!!! The dealer stated that he never received the card and that he has to cancel the card from Caltex and get another one issued. The dealer stated that the card was never used by anyone as per Caltex's records. A new fuel card was ordered in late January 2006. I called dealer last week and he was most apologetic and does not know what is going on. I called Nissan and they said take it up with the dealer. I called dealer and he said its Nissan/Caltex and to be patient. PATIENT I HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE NOVEMBER 2005 AND ITS NOW 27 FEBRUARY 2006.

Now if anyone from Nissan is reading this all I have to say is I want my fuel card.

Now, I bet none of you can beat this one.

Poor customer service indeed!

You should have just told them, write me a cheque for $1000 and forget about the fuel card. I'll buy fuel with this money emoticon

Or even better, ask them to swap the value of this fuel card for genuine accessories from the dealer!

I can't beat this one indeed and I don't have your patience. I would have started banging doors by now emoticon

Re: NO FUEL CARD YET FOR NEW XTRAIL PURCHASED NOV 2005

Hi all again,
I decided this morning Tues 28/2/2006 to call Nissan Aust at 9am. I spoke with one of the customer support people and I asked for a manager to return my call after explaining my circumstances about the fuel card. I was promised at 9am that I would receive a call back within 1/2 an hour. At 12pm I received no call so trying to call Nissan only diverted me to their automatic call back help line so I left my message. Its now 4.55pm and I am still waiting on that phone call that was due to me by 9.30am.

I will send them (Nissan Aust) a "nice" fax in the morning and see what they do.

I will keep you all informed of this.

Regards

If I was you, I would go back to the dealer and demand a cheque written out to the value of $1000 from which you will use to buy fuel from.

If the dealer refuses then tell them that you have waiting long enough for this card, and are totally disgusted with the lack of service, and that you will be on your way to the Office of Fair Trading to lodge a formal complaint.

Word of advice:

Mention of "Department of Fair Trading" usually returns speedy results.

I have just finished drafting my fax to be sent in the morning to Nissan Australia. I dont really blame my dealer on this one but rather Nissan itself for not following up my complaint.

Thanks to NPC73 and Basshead - I have included a a few lines on Consumer Affairs here in Melbourne to see it this works.

I will give them 5 business days and if there is no card or response then I will lodge a complaint with Consumer Affairs.

Here is todays update. This morning (8am)1/3/2006 I faxed my complaint to Nissan Australia - and surprise surprise at 4.05pm still no phone call back to me.

I have included the consumers affairs option in the fax and will be lodging this next week if no satisfactory response is received from Nissan.

Mate, may I suggest you go and set-up a meeting with the "Principal" of the dealership and not sales staff. This might help speed-up the process and....try to stay calm and in control (I know it's hard) emoticon

Take a copy of the fax with you too.

Nissan head office usually call me back within 15 minutes and I have rang them more than once.
