Re: Hi-Tech X-Trail Extractors/Headers & Full Exhaust System

Thanks Jalal,
I remember reading about optimising the low and mid-range torque for the normal Exy purpose but did not know there was such little difference to be gained at higher rpm.

As you say ... they know best.

You should definitely get them to look at it, there are two possible causes:

1. There is a leak on a weld.
2. Part of the system is touching the underside of the car.

Hi Adam,
I found a weld leak on the manifold.

When I get back to Sydney I'll get them to look at it and check the rest of the system.

Update on performance of this mod...

Overtaking acceleration is amazing.
Full throttle at 80-90kph and you are upto 120kph before you can blink.
Nice and safe for quick overtaking on single lane roads but got to be aware to slow back down again emoticon

This is exactly what I have experienced during my recent trip to Nowra and back emoticon

Hill climbs have never been easier.

Due to the high success of this mod, the Hi-Tech system is being shipped to the first international customer in Canada (not Roger emoticon ) It is very good to see an Australian exhaust system receiving such good reviews and feedback and generating interest overseas.

Roger,

To answer your question, the customer in Timmins, Ontario was quoted $490AUD for shipping to have this system delivered door to door. It is a high shipping charge, but it is due to his location and package size limitations set by Timmins, Ontario.

He is going a head and I will soon be able to post photos of the Hi-Tech system fitted to the first Canadian exy emoticon

During the run to Brisbane yesterday I've started to get a vibration at higher revs.
Sounds like one of the heat shields mentioned.
I'll try to check it out.

Found it emoticon
Seems like my grille mesh was vibrating and needed a couple more cable-ties emoticon

Haha! Mine was the same... seems the exhaust calls for us to accelerate more (just for fun) which has introduced some new factors emoticon

Thought I'd post this link to Nathan's X-Trail when we went to Stockton Beach recently. I think it is a good video clip of the sound and power of the Twins...

Click Here to view video clip (just ignore all the wind noise during the second half of the clip!)

Rich,
Not sure if it is just me, but my system won't play this file.
