Re: Radiator Protection Series 3
Hi to All,
The air con radiator has now been replaced and all is well. Having tried to remove the front last weekend, I gave up as I didn't want to do more damage than I was trying to stop. After removing the grille, and taking measurements, I cut a piece of Supercheap mesh to 740 by 110 mm. I clamped it between 2 pieces of 50mm timber with 30mm overlap each side. From there I bent it to form a U shape. The 50mm wide timber is the measurement across the opening. After removing it from the timber it curled slightly, but this fits the profile of the opening exactly. It forms a box right around the opening and for now, I have used cable ties as I am going to use silastic to hold it in place but need the small tube rather than the large calking gun to get in there.
I haven't done the lower opening yet, still thinking about the best way to do it.
This is unmodded with the grille removed and the brand new air con raditor in full view.
The gaping hole is an attraction for rocks and stones. CLICK on each picture for the full size version.
This is with the mesh. If you zoom right in you can just depict the cable ties. I reckon it looks a million dollars, far better than the open hole.
This is the view from inside, see how it forms a box right around the opening.
Regards
John

Here is a sneak peak of the billet grille set

Re: Billett grille set
Hi Jalal,
Is the radiator protection pieces available separately or do you need to purchase the 3 of them together.
Regards
John

Re:
That's why I decided to wait before fitting the lower section, because am fitting the ECB nudge bar and don't know how it will sit until I see it.
