T30 Head Light Eyelids
A post in the "Interesting Pics" thread has reminded me about the Eyelids that I would really like to get.
Here is the pic that onitc posted that shows them ...
If anyone else would be interested in these please add a note to this thread, I can't guarantee a group buy at this stage but if I can get a dialogue going with them and we have enough interest then I can try.

Re: Eyelids
Guys,
I think we have discussed this before and I remember we had a member who was going to check locally to see if they can be made/manufactured.
For what they're (in terms of material) they certainly not worth paying 190 bucks a pair for (excluding postage) from Japan.
I have something in mind which might help us to get these made locally
Now you ask, how do I know they're not worth that kind of money, well, because I got them and they're on my exy
Now the ones I have are a different style to the ones shown in the pic above (they don't cover the indicator lights) but it is the same material.
As I said, I will try to have these made locally.

Re: Eyelids
Hi Guys,
3 companies in Sydney have been located who may be able to manufacture this for me.
I will start initiating contact next week.
I'm very optimistic that it can be done.
Stay tuned.

Re: Eyelids
That is exactly what Adam and I were discussing but we then thought that by painting the top of the lenses this wont last very long with chips, scratches and the fade effect.
How long have you had them sprayed for and what is their state/look now?
Did you have them covered with some sort of protective film or something?

Matt, have you ever posted ANY pictures of your X-Trail??? We would all like to see it and now I am interested to see how the painted lenses look. Did you paint the actual light lenses or some covers?

Re: Eyelids
I have promised my editor exclusivity on any work done to my car in the last 10 weeks. No pictures have been taken but I am organising our magazine photo shoot once the top tank is organised. The current paint has proven to be difficult to capture on a lense, with either the orange or silver pearl dominating the black once the camera flashes.
Unfortunately, that is something that I will standby or risk losing my only current source of income. I had surgery 4 weeks ago and not supposed to be on my feet for more than a few minutes.
I can however tell you, that it does look good.
Jalal: Nissan KH3 Black is actually straight black paint(no colour), so removing your headlights, applying masking tape and painting with the Big W $10 can of 'Gloss Black' will be a PERFECT match for your paint once you apply a clear coat over the top.
I had my lenses painted about 4 weeks ago, the car has been sitting outside ever since and has not faded. If the paint ever chips, I will prob get headlight protectors and repaint the lenses again.
I will post a picture of the headlights, I am hardly giving anything away by this but I might leave the bonnet open while I took the pictures
