Factory Wheel Alignment Values

Hi Guys,

Last week I took my exy for servicing and asked for tyre rotation, balance and alignment.

As many of you would know the exy needs front and rear wheel alignment.

Anyway, I got my car and with it a sheet of the values the tyre shop have used to align my wheels (the tyre shop usually used by the dealer to do this) and when I started driving the exy, I felt it pulling left big time (this was also my complain before the service but not as bad)

I called them today and asked for the alignment to be done again and this time I had the factory alignment values printed and in hand.

The gentleman from the tyre shop came around and I told him what the problem was and asked him to set the alignment exactly as shown in the spec sheet I gave him.

The exy came back 40 minutes later and the gentleman confirmed that rear alignment was out and was corrected using the values in the spec sheet.

The car now drives dead centre!

So, the point of this post is to print these factory set values and take them with you next time you do the wheel alignment, as am not sure what values some of these shops have in their system for the exy (but am sure some of them are incorrect)

The other thing to watch out for is the method used for wheel alignment. I found that Laser Wheel Alignment is the most accurate.

Here are the Nissan Alignment Values (applicable to both Series I and II)

I got a wheel alignment yesterday and here is the print out. This is the first alignment ever, even though I lowered it it wasnt out by much but is was out. Not that they can correct much anyway

Re: Factory Wheel Alignment Values

Are those alignment values for the series 1 & 2 the same as for the T31. I expect that the T31 would be different as I believe the suspension setup has been altered substantially. My ST will be fitted with alloys at some stage and I would like to know the "correct" values to have them aligned to. Thanks.

Re: Factory Wheel Alignment Values

Well as you can see from my previous post in March its been a long wait for Bob Jane to get in the wheels I wanted and now I find out they can't get them at all. So the next choice is being fitted Friday. When I told the guy that I would bring in the factory alignment settings he said that he couldn't guarantee that these settings won't scrub the tyres as he can't use factory settings on some other brands of cars.
I'll assume at this stage that the factory specs are quite ok. Anyone care to comment. Thanks.

Re: Factory Wheel Alignment Values

I've been asking all the tyre places I've been to for wheel alignment to use the factory values for the last 5 years and I didn't have any problems no matter what tyres I am using.

The guesswork some of these places use made me return to one of them probably about 4 times until he finally agreed to follow the factory values I gave him and they were perfect.

Can I assume the T31 specs are the same for the diesel.

Re: Factory Wheel Alignment Values

Thanks Jalal for fixing the T31 image. Is that spec sheet for front or rear or both? Is it sufficient to get the front toe checked or should I get the full alignment done?

Thanks,
George.
