I have been researching other x-trail forums (sorry Jalal/Noel)
Hey mate, nothing to be sorry about here. The net is open for everyone to browse and I myself am a member of many xtrail forums
WRT to the Consult tool, it really depends what you wanna do with it.
Seeing pretty codes coming out of the ECU on Consult is one thing, but translating these or even attempting to adjust any of them is a very serious business, as you're messing-up with the brain of your exy.
I can tell you now that Nissan would not look favourably at any tempering attempts with the ECU or the program contained in it.
Personally I would stay clear of the ECU and the most I would attempt is re-setting it.

Re: Nissan Consult - what is it ?
I looked into this a while back and found that the x-trail is a consult II vehicle, meaning all the "OEM" consult 1 devices made for older 300zx and pulsars are incompatible...
as far as I know, no one has hacked the consult II yet, so your only option for mucking about is $1000 plus for aftermarket engine management, or $15000+ to buy a genuine nissan consult II computer

Re: Nissan Consult - what is it ?
Hi Guys,
Just got back from my dealers after the 50K service and I complained about my fuel consumption figures, so they have decided to run the diagnostics on the ECU (using Consult II) and have re-set the ECU for me (again).
They gave me the print-out of the whole process and in there it shows the fuel:air ratio readings.
I was hoping someone could translate these to me, as I have no idea what they mean, except knowing that O2 sensor reading was taken along the throttle position
P.S. Look at the date of the print-out LOL
I sure do hope that they didn't give me an ECU reading back from 1980 LOL

Jalal,
Did your fuel figures improve after you 'self reset' the exee or wasn't there enough time to tell if it made any difference.
I didn't drive the exy at all after I reset the ECU myself, so I can't tell.
quote: Also, was Nissan's reset method in line with the posted method.
No. The dealer resets the ECU through Consult II and forces the learning code.
quote: Finally, did they say anything about your 'before' air-fuel ratio, or what is ideal for the exee.
According to them, everything was in order and no errors recorded. This includes the air-fuel ratio.
I'm just trying to inteprate these readings to match them with a stock exy without the twins mod and see if they're the same.

Re: Nissan Consult - what is it ?
Rich,
The print-out is working fine for me here, it's quite a large image (around 500kb) so it may take a while to load.
Yes please, if you can get a print-out of yours, it'll be interesting to compare, but I still want to find out what some of these readings actually mean/translate to.
