Re: Radio Wiring Diagram

If I'm correct, http://ww2.datazap.net/ftp/basshead/xtrail/AV.PDF is the file with the stereo details.

Be warned it is 10MB!!!

Re: Radio Wiring Diagram

I have a iRiver mp3 player wich I use all the time in the car. I went and bought an iRiver fm transmiter which plugs into the cigarette lighter. You can tune the transmitter into any frequency and store 3 presets. A got it at JB Hi Fi for about $70 bucks. It is definately worth paying more for a decent transmitter, less back ground noise, which is a killer!

Re: Radio Wiring Diagram

Hi Matt,

I just found another wiring diagram for the xtrail head-unit which compliments Richi's file and it's a bit simpler to read.

It's much smaller in size too emoticon

Re: Replacing t30 6-CD/cassette with smaller dimension audio unit

Hi Fellow X-Trailers,

I'm about to change the 6-CD/cassette player on my 2007 t30, which is taller than most standard car audio units these days. I will install a basic Multilaser (model P3214) with FM, USB (for MP3), AUX (for sound on my Discovery GPS with TV) and bluetooth (for my cellphone), and nothing else. Given that it is much less tall, any ideas about what I should do with the gap left either above or below? I'm not sure yet if the kit will include a niche as a gap-filler. Many thanks for the hints on wiring, but I'll probably chicken out of this adventure.

Cheers, BRIAN

Re: Radio Wiring Diagram

Easy Brian, as the standard unit is a double-DIN unit and your replacement will be a single-DIN unit just get a single DIN pocket for the gap.

Re: Audio Unit Replacement

Hi X-TRAIL-HOLIC,
It seems that my new audio unit, Multilaser P3214, which I had thought would be absolutely standard in terms of dimensions, is, in fact, 0.5 cm wider, and there will be a 1-Din gap to be filled, above or below, with a pocket / cubby hole. I called a trusted mechanic, and, get this, he told me not to worry, as, nextdoor, there's a firm that laser-cuts these audio frames in acrylic, with or without the "gap-filler". I hope to be able to watch this process. A member of the Canadian sister forum suggests fitting a special cassette in the original unit so that one can use bluetooth, but what I most need is a USB for my 3,000 MP3s.

Re:

Brian, I don't think you understood what Kev suggested to you.

The older model X-Trails had a 1-Din CD player and radio and they had a Din pocket below it (like the ones you can see HERE). What Kev suggested to you is to mount your new Multilaser unit in the top din compartment and get the genuine xtrail din pocket from the wreckers or Nissan themselves and mount it under your new unit. No laser cutting is required.
