Re:

To put it simply, the dealer has been very lazy and ripped you off. The dealer principal is being an obstinate prick!

The strut brace was used as an excuse to charge you to fix the problem because they couldn't properly diagnose the fault. So rather than put in another warranty claim with Nissan, they took the easy way out and charged you to fix a warranty problem (dealers charge you more than Nissan pays them to do the same job)

I've got the same strut brace on my T31 TS and don't have any issues, but I'd really like to know what the real cause is for obvious reasons

Please tell us which dealer it is so we can all avoid it.

- IF the strut brace was responsible for the solenoid failures, removing the brace would have meant the solenoid wouldn't have failed again.

- Given that they removed the brace and the solenoid has failed again, clearly their previous fault diagnosis was wrong, meaning that it is still a warranty issue and that you are most certainly entitled to e full refund of the money they extracted out of you.

It is not your fault that they took a guess and incorrectly blamed the strut brace, nor should you be reasonably be expected to pay for their failure to properly diagnose a fault.

If it's too late for them to claim with Nissan, BAD LUCK for them! They will have to wear the cost.

Put your demand for a refund in writing.

PM me before you send the letter off and keep us updated on this thread.

Re: X-Trail Strut Bar

hey all,

sorry for long time no update.

so to explain the boost solenoid. it got replaced by Nissan under warranty. the bracket was in the wrong position and had been causing them to fail. they said it was due to how the brace was installed originally by my mechanic. well 20,000 kms has gone by and it has not failed again. I had the strut brace re-installed yesterday. Now looking for a lift kit!

Re: X-Trail Strut Bar

Hi Jalal,

Was looking for this thread, don't know how I missed it.

Still have strut bars available for T31?

I'll be in Sydney next week, possible to pick it up there?
Any chance I could get some help installing it?
As I understand it's a pretty straight forward install.

Cheers,
Ben

Re:

Sorry Ben, since I didn't get much interest when I raised the prospects of importing more T31 strut bars, I put the idea on hold, as I need to use these funds elsewhere.

If I get 5 confirmed orders from existing T31 owners, I can arrange to have the strut bars imported and it'll take around a week or so to get them (provided the manufacturer has them in stock)
