Re: Who offers the Smartest looking Nudge Bar or Bull Bar?

Hi riscy and welcome to the forums.

A tough question indeed.

While I couldn't find any answers for you to suggest that such type of nudge does exist for the xtrail, I have thought of something else which you may find helpful.

I have an aftermarket nudge bar and I have got myself a nudge bar mounting bracket for the UHF antenna (see pics)

Now if you look closely at this mounting bracket, you can see that the antenna is mounted through a hole in this bracket, so I was thinking that you may be able to buy 2 of these brackets and use the existing holes to mount 2 aluminum poles and have a cross bar going between them at the top to hold the front of the kayak.

Not an ideal solution, but these nudge brackets are available for any size nudge in 45mm and 50mm and cost around $25 each from any 4WD shop.

I also presume that you have already worked-out how to secure the kayak to your roof racks?

Hope this helps somehow.

Hi Guys,

Rob (Panfa1) has sent me this pic of a new bullbar that hit the market and it is made by Blueys.

Image

Rob will find a bit more info about it later and post his findings here.

Thanks Rob.

Yep, that's a bullbar alright...

Looks like it would weigh half a ton and would much better protect the car from stray 'roos than anything else we've ever seen for the X-Trail!

If I saw that coming towards me (from any direction), the last car I would expect it to be would be an X-Trail! It makes it look more like a beefy Patrol or Navara!

Hi Guys,

Here is the polished alloy version of the "beast" emoticon

I have also been informed that they weigh approx. between 35kg-40kgs

I believe Rob will be inspecting them in person soon and will give us an update then.

Sorry Jalal. You can have this one all to yourself, even at half the price. 35kg over the front end of an exee, I don't think so. My Pajero bullbar only weighs 30kg and its on a much bigger and more secure front end and it still dropped the front end by 1".

 Those poor shockies and springs.

Re: Who offers the Smartest looking Nudge Bar or Bull Bar?

Hi Brett,

Sorry mate, it is not always I include stuff on the forum based on my personal taste emoticon

Surprisingly enough there is enough interest in these bull-bars out there. You and I might not like them and it is not what we're looking for, but the discount offer has been made available for those who are interested and for that we ought to thank Barjo and their cooperation with us as a club.

I will not knock back discount offers based on my "taste" alone emoticon

Who knows, maybe the guys that are buying these bull-bars are running on stiffer shocks and springs which might not be so bad after all. My bash plate wighs 15-20KGs and I was running with that fine around the city emoticon
