Re: Bash Plate and Lift Kit

Made another Phone call today to a fabricator at Long Jetty and asked if he can do plates for us. He said that anything can be done and to drop in next week. He does rally cars and other 4wds so knows what we need,

How many people may be interested in replacing there plastic guards and to cover the mufflers and other underbody parts.

Other option i thought about was a Mini/Moke Sump Guard which cost $99.00 and then modify a little

I would - especially near the oil filter and PULLEY on the left hand side of the engine bay (when facing engine with bonnet up) as there is NO protection for the pulley down the bottom!

Hi Shane,

I would have loved the bash plate you're asking about to come all the way up to cover and protect the front radiator (which is a perfect target for stones at the moment)

It needs to have some sort of ventialtion of course to keep the air flowing, but I guess the whole bash plate would have that as well.

I think the black plastic stuff on the factory nudge bar covers this, Jalal, as I haven't noticed any exposed radiator...

Re: Bash Plate and Lift Kit

Jalal,

I spoke with the guy on friday and he said that the front bumper would need to be removed, as Rich said and that you are aware of ours is covered but has a stainless steel mesh that you could use.

The plate will sit just under the frame running from the front back to the crossmenber with a rubber strip to stop any vibration, I will be advised of cost tomorrow.

Hi Shane,

Did you mean that Series II has a stainless steel mesh which I could use or I could have one made-up by the same place you're dealing with?

Also, why does the front bumper need to come off?

Looking forward to find-out the price emoticon

Jalal,

Yours could be different but on the series 2 it is a bit tighter and looks a s though the bumper would need to come off, i could be wrong as it was a quik visit. No we don't have the mesh but you could have it made

Re: Bash Plate and Lift Kit

Hey Guys,

Just rang the place that was going to make the Bash plate and i nearly fell over.

The initial Plate with Template is $980 in 5mm Aluminium which will take a good hit. then $780 for each one after, if made size smaller down to $700.

Going to see my inlaw on the weekend and they make ute trays and what not so will see what he can do unless someone else wnat to do it.
