Re: Better Fuel Consumption Device...

Reading the internet page article I am not sure what the "coloidal zinc particles" would do to the sparkplugs and cat-converter.

Re: Better Fuel Consumption Device...

Before fitting Fuelstar, 98 Octane fuel - 8.73 km/l

After fitting Fuelstar,

1st check, 95 Octane fuel - 8.93 km/l

Includes full throttle run.

2nd check, 95 Octane fuel - 9.11 km/l

Includes towing trailer (usually 7.6 Km/l) and a couple of full throttle fun times.

It just keeps getting better.

Re: Better Fuel Consumption Device...

Wow, so you're saying that your fuel economy is better with towing a trailer than without??!!??

I am getting confused with all these km/l figures and it would be helpful if you can give us the LT/100kms instead for each fuel tank you have experimented.

My calculations based on the figures you provided suggests the following:

Before fitting the fuel saver, your consumption was 11.45LT/100kms

1st fuel tank 11.19LT/100Kms
2nd fuel tank 10.97LT/100kms

Re: Better Fuel Consumption Device...

During the testing period I have been filling up at the same petrol station each Monday night.

During the second tank/week I dragged my trailer around on Saturday. So one day out of seven I would have got worse economy.

But overall for the week I still got an improvement. :-)

Maybe the ECU is still adjusting to the Fuelstar.

Should I pull the fuses or would it be smarter by now.

The ECU would have adjusted itself already by now.

Thanks for the ECU tip Jalalski.

Sorry no update for this Monday.

Bob Janes stripped a Wheel Stud on Saturday morning so the car has been pushed to the back of the shed until they fix it and riding my motorbike.

My big bike gets 5L/100 Km and my little bike gets 3L/100 Km.

If you blank off half of the air intake, your mileage will see a consistent improvement.

It's possible, but you won't be getting as much power and torque as you normally would with proper air intake.

There is a fine balance between saving fuel and having power and they go hand in hand.

A fuel SAVING device simply does NOT exist, if it did, car manufacturers will be on top of it before you and I even know it. What you can get is devices and gadgets that would increase power and leave no impact on fuel consumption, which in theory is considered "saving fuel"
