I can't believe they haven't changed or offered to change that filthy air filter.

I mentioned the air filter to them at the 10k service (it didn't look any cleaner than it is now) and they said they're good for 40k's! Today will tell if changing it has made any difference to performance, and the next tankful will tell me if it's more fuel efficient...

I would give Adrian a call about this if I were you. This is very concerning.

I sure will. I still haven't sent in my "service survey" yet, either emoticon

I wonder what service they've done at all apart form changing oil and filter?

Now that I think about it - I remember seeing alot of grease on all the suspension/steering ball joints right after the 10k service and I thought something was leaking emoticon Someone mentioned that part of the service was to grease all moving parts - something I am sure hasn't been done this time (as there's no grease anywhere to be found under the car!)

Re: Service Costs Comparison

(moved from another thread)
A couple of people commented on the total cost of my recent service - here's the breakdown:
New front pads and discs $565.35
50,000 km service $216.89
new front wiper blades $30.12
           $812.35
Muffler - no charge replaced under warrantee.

Have included the GST in each item instead of a seperate total.
The brake job:
Labour $150
Set Pads $136.93
Two new discs $278.41
           $565.34

That all seems in the ball park of what I expect.

Re: Service Costs Comparison

Hi Dave,

Yes, these prices seems reasonable, so I guess you were hit hard with the price of new discs and the brake job labour charge which added a considerable amount to your total.

Hopefully you won’t have to worry about them for quite some time, but you may need to start looking for rear pads replacement soon.

Yep, $266 is a bit excessive for the standard 10,000kms service (even in Sydney's high price standards); I would have argued that price with passion.

Are you sure they haven't done anything extra or changed something?

Well when she went into the dealer with the keys for the service she was quoted $266. however unlike I stated above the $20 flush was included. a brake down of the costs are as follow:- Labour 138.47, washer Drain plug 1.40, Filter ASSY-Oil 18.39, screen wash Sachet x100 .98, engine flush 8.64, injector cleaner 250ml 8.64, miniblade fuse-10a 1.35, POL (which I think stands for petrol, Oils and Lubricants 31.92, workshop supplies 10.00, Hazadous waste 3.85, GST 22.36

All for the grand total of $246.00. for a standard service.... ummm $20 less than 266. I think they forgot to add the flush, still a high price though I think.

I had my 30,000km serviced three weeks ago, opened my air filter and it was about as dirty as shown in your picture - this is surely enough to warrant at least cleaning or replacing? Shane tells me it was absolutely filthy! I have emailed the service manager just now with a picture of the air filter - am I paranoid or it is likely they they did not even open the air filter?

well I spoke to Nissan Unley today and they quoted me $192.00 for the same service and $14 for an Oil flush! I guess I know where I'm going next time.... they even said they would rotate the wheels for free if needed and they do....

(Edit: fixed the quote command)

When I bought mine a few weeks ago my dealer said every 10,000k service was $150. Wonder if he's spinning BS?

"That's the interesting bit - not knowing til afterwards" (Eeyore) Guess you'll find out when you take it in for a service and remind him. David M
