Re: Col Crawford experience

No I don't think they have.
Talked to the previous service manager about them. He was good and knew about the butterfly screws but the new one does not seem to care much except for standard servicing and "unmodified" vehicles.

Re: NISSAN Service Costs Comparison T30 X-Trail

Does $700 sound about right for a T30 80,000 klm Service.

Estimated price for checking Butterfly Screws was approx $300 (which is pretty much what everyones experience has been on here)

Re:

I will have my 80,000km service tomorrow at Rockdale Nissan.

I intend to bring my own oil filter cause it cost me $21 at last service. But I'm not sure what brand and type to buy. I hope to get one from this forum but the problem is insufficient time.

Any recommendation?

Re:

Hi Eric,

$21 is not that bad for a genuine Nissan oil filter. You can buy the cheaper Repco type or the more expensive K&N oil filter, but since you don't have time, you might as well stick with the genuine one.

Re:

No worries Eric. For the next service you can stock-up on the K&N Oil Filter like I did. The part number is HP-1008

Re: NISSAN Service Costs Comparison T30 X-Trail

So anyone else have a relatively recent price on an 80K service.

$700 quoted

They said they will reduce the price (but not quoted) as I am supplying my own Oil filter (K&N), have a K&N air filter (not to be 'replaced'), Spark Plugs (NGK Iridium) and Oil (castrol Edge 5w30). But suspect by supplying all this won't even drop the price by $100.

Re:

$700 is way too much for the 80K service if you're supplying all of this stuff. You should be looking at $350 max and this is exactly what I paid at Rockdale Nissan (details HERE)

It's a major service, but $700 is a rip-off price!

Re: NISSAN Service Costs Comparison T30 X-Trail

I had my 80k service last Friday at Rockdale Nissan. The listed price is $515. Because I booked from their website and got 10% discount. The final price was $464. I didn't supply anything. Happy with the price.

Break down

Labor - $211.68

Parts:

Engine oil, PKGD 5LTR - $34.56
Filter Assy-oil - $21.05
Washer union B - $2
injector cleaner - $9.16
screen wash sacet - $1.00
Air filter - $36.43
Brake & Clutch Fluid - $8.36
long life coolant 1LTR x 2 - $23.07
plug - spark x 4 - $25.85
in cabin filter - $40.56

Not sure what the PKGD 5LTR Engine oil is, last service they used 7.5W30 NISSAN OIL, which cost me $42.13. Looks like they used a cheaper one this time.
