posticon NISSAN Service Costs Comparison T30 X-Trail

Thought I would start a Service Cost Page so that we can see who is charging what around the place.

1000 km (Darwin Dealer) free, and they gave me a loan X-Trail for the day without me asking!!!The one with the lights in the roof rack. Odd!

10,000 km (Maitland N.S.W.Dealer) $150.55 Retail

20,000 km (Tennant Creek N.T.Dealer) $193.50 Retail

30,000 km (Alice Springs Dealer) TBA

X-Trailers should consider ensuring their service crew rotate the tyres each service for even tyre wear. Sometimes they don't. (I found out the excessive tyre wear way).

I hope to be on here regularly with my 2 cents.

Anyway took my xtrail in for it's 40 000km at belconnen(canberra) nissan service and they quoted me $420!!

to me this seems a bit pricey.
has anybody else had their 40 000km service?
I'd like to know what they got charged.

Well we only have one dealer in the whole country with 8 locations so the price is the same everywhere. My 1K service was free, 5K was $45.00, and 10K was $145.00.

That's what we call it here in Australia a "fair" competition opportunity emoticon at least you don't have to waste time shopping around emoticon

5,000k service?

I don't think we have them here in Oz?!

I used to change the oil & filter myself on my pulsar every 5,000k's, but that was mainly due to the fact that I took it to the race track occasionally...

My 40K service Experience

Hi Guys,

Just got back from Rockdale Nissan where my exy had the 40K service.

It cost me $345 (including the tire rotation and balance, but excluding the air filter change, as it was changed at 30K and still clean)

The guys (service mgrs) over there are great and helpfull, but I received my car washed and cleaned and of course got asked by nearly everyone at the service centre (including the mehcanics and other exy owners) about the chromy and shiny bits that I have on my exy, so while I was driving back home, this sudden shadder and shake through-out the body of the car appeared out of nowhere, so I thought here we go again, another "loose nut" experience emoticon so I rang them back straight away while driving and told them about it, they asked to me bring it back, so here I'm driving back with my emergency flashers on and the shake is getting worse (I had to pull-over at one stage)

Anyway got there and told them that I don't think the wheels were balanced at all after being rotated, so they called the local Buerepair (I think this how it spelt) shop where they balance alloy wheels for nissan and the guy came like a flash and took my car away.

He came back after about 20 mins and said that because these are not factory nissan alloys, they needed some sort of a spacer or something plasticy to centre the wholes of the alloy wheels with the nut holes on the car.

Apparently my wheels had never been rotated (since they were fitted by nissan Sutherland when purchased new) and this plastic spacer just fell-off or cracked when they rotated my wheels.

Anyway, I just got a call saying that ordered them in from ROH and they will fit them for me on Monday morning ($40 for the spacers).

The thing that pissed me off the most, was the fact that 2 times nissan sutherland claimed they rotated the tires for me during the past 3 services, when in fact they had never been touched and today's experience proves this.

I will report back on Monday if this problem gets resolved, as I'm only half happy today about my 40K service emoticon

P.S. My barkes were checked and nissan said the front ones should last for another 5K, although I'm not happy with the sound they're making when I apply the brakes a bit hard. So, I'll be ordering the EBC Green Stuff brakes very soon.

Nissan Rockdale-Sydney Service Costs

Hi Guys,

These are the cost of the xtrail service at nissan rockdale as stated on their board.

Sorry that I only looked and noted down the costs after the 40K mark (as this there where I'm at the moment) but I will get the rest of them when I go there on Monday.

40K = $345
50K = $195
60K = $205
70K = $195
80K = $390
90K = $195
100K = $205

Their service includes a car wash and a free loan car (provided you book it in advance). I scored an old '93 V6 Maxima today and it was a bitof a tank to drive emoticon

For those who take their exy to Rockdale regularly and who are prepared to take it there in the near future, you guys are encouraged to mention our forums, as your name will go down for service discount.

I told them about a couple of guys who are already long servcing customers at Rockdale (Rich is one of them and he's well known for his Pulsar) emoticon and they said that these guys are alreay entitled for that discount.

They're already doing the discount deal with another nissan forum (not an xtrail) and are happy to extend this to our forum.

Re: Service Costs Comparison

Good research there, Jalal...

As for the plastic locating ring for the wheels, you're very lucky no damange was done to the wheel studs (the bolts the wheel nuts go on) with all that wobbling around of the wheels... Now you know it's nothing to do with balancing the wheels themselves (although some tyre places recommend you do that when you do a rotation anyway, due to possible uneven wear of the tyres putting them out-of-balance).

The guy that I spoke to when I dropped my X-Trail off for it's 10,000k service @ Rockdale Nissan a couple of months ago asked me if I wanted a wheel rotation. I agreed to it, but I doubt it was done, and I also didn't get a chance to mark the wheels (like I normally would to check if something like that has been done).

I'll probably be doing my own rotation including the spare either tonight or tomorrow afternoon, as I have a slow leak in one tyre (which seems to stop deflating once it gets to about 18PSI) and I don't want it to blow up on me during our trip to Canberra this weekend.

Maybe it's time I started doing that tyre FAQ and bought myself some decent tyres emoticon
