Re: XTrail Air Filter

Jalal,

Sounds like exactly what I need right now. My X-trail is at about 27500km and I’ve noticed recently that it seems to miss slightly and a bit sluggish when accelerating through the gears.

I was going to buy some injector cleaner in the next week. Perhaps the problem is with the air filter if it’s still the original filter since new?

Honestly I haven’t even checked it.

 emoticon

Kind Regards

Re: XTrail Air Filter

Hi Noel,

I think it's worth getting the K&N filter in any case. You wont regret it and you wont need to depend on nissan changing the thing, as the K&N one will last you for much much longer and all you need to do after 20,000 or so kms is give it a good wash and apply the oil to it and it's as good as new.

Re: XTrail Air Filter

hey guys,

I don't think it would be real hard at all to make changes to the air intake angle as it is loose any way. Could be worth looking at if we had water crossing, maybe even take it off in some circumstances.

Re: XTrail Air Filter

Hi Guys,

Went out today and blew the budget a bit for this week. emoticon I bought a K&N Air Filter for the X-Trail.

My comments: Absolutely Brilliant. Hugh Difference. emoticon

Lots more power, and engine doesn’t seem to stain any more. You can actually hear the air in-take now. A whole different sound to the engine. And best of all, no more slight missing or being sluggish. I haven’t even put the injector cleaner in yet.

Went into Autobarn, Cairns. The attendant really sold the product well. I had to have it today!! The guy showed me a demonstration using a ping-pong ball and a standard filter and the K&N. The demo spoke for itself, I was impressed.

When I asked how much? He said $140. I said “What!!”. Is that the best price you can do? He said “no”. I told him about the X-trail forum and one of our members got it for $119 from Autobarn down south. We agreed on this price.

I could have got him down lower. I totally forgot about Mal’s post for $99. emoticon Doesn’t matter it is still worth it.

I will definitely be looking at getting a K&N Air Filter for Silvia’s Elantra in the next few weeks.

I guess this is another example of value for money, just like the Premium unleaded fuel.

And I would not have known about it, if it weren’t for all you guys. Thanks heaps.

 =D

Kind Regards

Re: XTrail Air Filter

I was just thinking.

What does the Primum Unleaded, K&N Air Filter, and Catalytic Converter Recall and O2 Sensor Boss recall have in common?

Engine efficiency.

Are all three related??

Hi Noel,

I'm glad it wasn't just me who noticed the huge difference emoticon

Xtrailers around the world are saying and noticing exactly the same improvement.

XTrail Air Filter-Pics

Hi Guys,

While I was playing around with my exy today, I thought I'd take a couple of shots of my engine bay and the K&N Filter.

Nice Pics Jalal,

Hey where did you get the rectangular K&N sticker on you air intake from?

I got the "Stop" shaped sticker for the air filter box, but not the other one.

Kind Regards

Re: XTrail Air Filter

You must have missed it, it was in the same box as the filter. I chucked it away 1st thinking it was a piece of paper, then realised it's another sticker.

And I've still got my box and two sheets of A4 paper, but threw the rest out.
