Re: X-Trail Tail Lights Modification

I guess the best way to do is share shippment.

Each shippment will be expensive.

To do a calculation for Shippment post a Zip Code & wich will be a good shippment way??? DHL, Fedex, UPS??? Which?

Excellent price Manuel for the RFL, that proves how much cheaper parts can you get compared to the so called "genuine nissan"

I got one of the genuine ones already.

Dave, go for it mate, hopefully this time they'll be more interested xtrailers seeing the price difference.

P.S. The only concern I would have is the shipping cost, as I have tried to buy some accessories and parts from Canada through Stephen and they were actually cheaper than Australia, but when it came to calculating shipping costs, it blew my savings away. I just could not believe how expensive the shipping cost is from Canada to Australia.

Get this, 20 pound (i.e. 9Kg) would cost around $300AUS from Canada to Australia. It's actually nearly double the price of the parts and accessories I wanted to get.

Manuel, if you can find-out how much shipping from the U.S. or Mexico would cost, it would be great, try basing it on UPS (around 7 days delivery)

Re: X-Trail Tail Lights Modification

It's OEM, genuine Nissan RFL bought at dealership =D , I'm not an aftermarket fan for these parts, specially talking about this kindda parts.

Ask other guys to save shippment.

I'll research for Shippment via UPS, we have enought time, regardless I'll go to USA (I guess cheapest shippment fee than from Mexico).

He's not sure however who sells them.

I'll see if I can track them down.

Re: X-Trail Tail Lights Modification

This the web site where the new look tail light is shown.

http://www.autech.jp/SV/T30S04/t30s02_1.htm

I love the front grille as well, it completely changes the look of the xtrail.

Apparently, there is a store in Jakarta that sells this tail light for $320 US (a bit too expensive)

EDIT: I have tracked-down this tail light to a Japanese manufacturer (Ichikoh Industries, Ltd.) and after getting in touch with them, they advised that this tail light is now being sold as part of the nissan distribution networks, most probably in Japan only and most probabaly it will take another 100 years before it turns-up here in Australia emoticon so I'm not holding my breath.

Go for it Jalal. I changed mine out some time ago. Pretty ironic that my nex mod is going to add the light bulbs to the top of the tailamps (like on your Exy). =D

Hi Terranismo,

Long time no speak emoticon

Listen mate, how on earth can I get to the bloody turn signal indicators on the front mudguards?

I have tried the owners manual and the electronic service handbook CD and there is nothing mentioned on how to change the bulbs on the side indicators or how to replace the whole thing.

Do they just pop-out the front mudguard or something?

How are they attached? are they screwed-on from the other side of the mudguard?

Any help will be appreciated, as I have received my clear signal indicators and would like to swap them with the yellow ones I have.

Thanks.

Turn singals removal

Hi Guys,

Can anyone help me with the above inquiry?

I kept scratching my head last week and I still can't work-out how to remove these damn signals.

I just wonder what would people do if they want to replace the light globes for their signals?

Hey Jalal,

Given their location, I would assume that the side indicators are just held in by a clip, and you would need to slide them slightly either forwards (towards the front of the car) or backwards (to the rear) to pop them out.

Maybe gently lever a screwdriver (covered with rag of course!) in underneath either the front or rear edge and see if they pop out.

(I remember reading this in my AUII Falcon handbook, could be a similar set-up...)

Check out the back of the clear ones, see if there are any retaining clips, and then you'll know where to aim on the orange ones.

Oh, and congrats on the chrome grille score, I'm quite jealous!! (Though mine would have to be a series II one...) emoticon

Cheers,
Brenton

Thanks Brenton, you're a champion! emoticon

I just went outside and thought I'll give it a go and follow what you said and stuck a small screwdriver covered with a rag and stuck it between the signal and the mudguard and pulled towards myself (standing in front of them) and then closed my eyes and hoped for the best. I heard something pop-out and thought it was a piece of the plastic from the mudguard, but saw the signal dangling instead emoticon what a relief.

I wanted to try that process before, but just needed a bit of encouragement from you guys, so thanks again Brenton.

I'm sure you'll find a Ti chrome grille soon; I'll keep an eye-out for you.
