Is there anyone in Melbourne who has fitted the xtrak side steps and if so, who stocks them here?

Noel (NPC73) and myself are the only ones on this forum who have the xtrak side steps and nudge bar.

There was a distributor in Perth but they have stopped their import of xtrak range for some reason and it is no longer available anywhere. emoticon

You're one month late unfortunately, as it was available then.

Re: Side Steps

Jalal,
Thank you for breaking my heart. I was looking forward to those xtrak side steps.
I called West Aust today and they advised me the manufacturer in south africa has stopped making them.

Now, can anyone suggest any other brand that looks nice as I dont like the nissan ones.

Re: Side Steps

I don't know about that they have stopped making them.

I was told that they make enough money selling them in South Africa, that's not worth the hassell in exporting them to other countries.

And am very sorry to say this, but mine were the very last set of these sidesteps being sold by the australian distributor.

Re: Side Steps

Here are my new side steps they are higher than my last set as they were more for a city x-trail these have more clearance but if you hit these or the others I have you've done some damage to the undercarage anyway. They have taken a while to make but it was worth it in the end. Here are a few pics.

Re: Side Steps

Hi Dave,

I must say very nice steps indeed. Can you please clarify -> You had these made up by yourself or at a shop? Would they be available for purchase by other members?

Great Stuff...

Re: Side Steps

Hi Noel,
I made the stainless steel mirror finish side steps with alloy brackets just as a personal one off thing as there was nothing on the market that I liked and I now have two sets each being one of a kind in OZ, I guess it is all about individuality (I should download that spell checker if im going to post big words like that) but in making these I now have my initial set which I will need to sell in the future. They are stainless steel as well. Please dont ask to sell in this section of forum I will post over the weekend in the correct area.
Dave

Re: Side Steps

I have to agree with Noel in saying that they are the best side steps I have seen on any vehicle let alone an X-Trail. Very clean smooth lines.

Re: Side Steps

 Dave,

Good to see that my financial contribution to the rails has paid off. Mate, they have turned out much better then I expected. As the other gus have already stated, they are the best I have seen.

You thought making $50 a nudgebar was easy money, you could make a killing by selling these.

Re: Side Steps

Thaks guys but it's all up to individual preference in the end. My wife would kill me if I went into production on these they would be easier the second time around though.

Cheers Dave
