Fog Light Bulb

Thanks for all the information on getting the fog lamp housing out - its all there in the twelve pages of the "Headlights two candle power" thread - but not easy to find with a search.
Two tricks:
the cd manual says "2. Disconnect fog lamp connector.
3. Remove fog lamp mounting bolt.
4. Pull out fog lamp from vehicle and disconnect connector."
Even after I had the light right out, I couldn't see how to easily remove the connector, but the wires are long enough to leave it connected.
After you remove the bolt you have to push the unit out really HARD to get the upper thingies to release (they go back in quite easily).
I used a screw driver across the cap holding the globe in to get enough leverage - I doubt you would ever be able to do this changeover without taking the light right out.
Just went for the standard Narva H3 globe ($7.95) - the bloke just looked at me blankly when I asked about yellow globes.

Re: Fog Light Bulb

Dave,

You didn't have to browse through 12 pages of that thread to find this info. as I have created a DIY guide in the Q&A section of the forum which can be found HERE emoticon

It always a good idea to perform a search on the main chat AND the Q&A sections of the forums to find what you're looking for.

In this case, had you typed "Fog Lights" and chosen to search in Q&A, the above thread would have came-up.

Yeah, same here when I asked about the yellow H3 bulbs, no one in Australia has them, that's why I decided to get the yellow film instead (Cheaper and easier to install)

Re: Fog Light Bulb

I did try a search on both the main chat and the Q&A: perhaps instead of just Fog lights I had changing in the search string, or bulbs -thought just having fog in there somewhere would have brought it up.
Anyway, it was good to refresh my memory on the headlight bulbs issue, as as soon as one blows I plan to do something about the pair.

Re: Fog Light Bulb

No problems Dave,

I'll keep this thread here, so it can help widen the search criteria and provide a cross reference to the Q&A thread.

Are you saying you haven't got the Philips Blue Vision headlight bulbs yet??? Am disappointed LOL emoticon
