warranty period mix-up *update*

Well guys, it's been exactly 4 weeks since I raised the issue of the incorrect warranty period showing in the Nissan Database to the dealer and the problem hasn't been fixed yet.

I contacted Nissan Australia today and left a message and was given a call back 15 minutes later. (it's a miracle emoticon )

They acknowledged the problem and clearly stated that it is a dealer's fault, as they're the ones who supply them with registration date at the time of purchase.

The took all my details and my rego details and said to leave it to them to chase-up the dealer to have this matter corrected.

I told them that I've been waiting for 4 weeks for the dealer to get an answer and solution from Nissan Australia in this regard and the customer relations manager said that had the dealer contacted them, it wouldn't have taken so long to rectify.

Not sure whom to believe, but I'm chasing-up both and wont give-up until I get an official letter from BOTH.

The saga continues. emoticon

Nope! still chasing it with the dealer. I'm gonna give them a call today and if they don't sort it out soon, I'll be writing an official complaint to Nissan Head Office.

Re: out of warranty

Just spoke to the dealer who assured me that my mobile number was in front of the sales mgr to call today with an update on this (what a coincidence)

The sales mgr stated that nissan head office has acknowledged the error, but they're still deciding how they gonna update the system (which is apparently un-modifiable)

He assured that he will give me a call later today with the final update and the action head office want to take to rectify this error. I guess we'll see what happens later today.

Re: out of warranty

Keep us posted!

I have found Nissan to be the terrible/shocking/hopeless/etc with customer service. Unfortunately this is the first new car i have bought so i cannot say much about other brands, but maybe it is just typical of car salesman and dealerships.

If all else fails try the Australian Consumer Commision. I bet if you dropped that to Nissan, with some choice keywords you would really get their pants on fire! Worth calling just to get some low down on rights and responsibilities...

It has been Fixed

Hi Guys,

Just got a call from my dealer stating that nissan head-office has rectified the error with my warranty period and it has now been corrected to state that my warranty expires in January '06 (instead of October '04).

I'm picking-up an official letter in this regard from the dealer this weekend.

After nearly 8 weeks of waiting, the matter has finally come to a happy end emoticon
