Re:

Hi,
Just did a qoute with RACQ to see what my insurance is going to cost and it works out at $47.50 per month that's with hire car and excess free windscreen. Agreed value etc.

Standard was only $40.50 per month which is only about $4 dearer than what I am currently paying for a 2002 ford fairmont.

Cheers

Re:

We are with RACQ, have full comp which comes with hire car and 1 windshield replacement p/12 months and has an agreed value.
We paid $441 for the year. We are rated A drivers and also got a discount because we already had full roadside assistance with them and another insurance policy.

It was quoted at more however they will price match (or try) and we told them of a quote from "Bingle" insurance (the cheapest we could find) and the $441 is the offer they came back with.
Bingle was cheaper but not by much and we preferred to stay with RACQ to make things easier etc.

My Comprehensive insurance has gone up by over 8% this year.
Value of car has dropped by $1500. Basic Excess is up by $150 ($800)

Max No claim, No infringements. Drivers over 37yo. $947.

EDIT An to top it off...apparently the new premium INCLUDES an additional 5% discount this year.....so without that the premiums would have risen about 13%. What The!

Re:

I received my insurance renewal from Shannons last week and they are still cheaper than all of the other insurance companies in my case. They did drop the value of the exy from $48,000 to $40K, but when I called them up and complained about the drop in agreed value being too large, then jacked it up to $43,000 which I am happy with. The excess remained the same $550 for me and max no claim bonus.

I have decided to stay with them this year.

Re: Exy Insurance Cost Comparison

I have my bike with Shannons. They're great.

I think though one condition is that you don't use the vehicle to commute (which my missus has since started doing at her new job (last 4mths)

Re:

I didn't have this condition on the exy, it is only applicable to my Merc as I have insured it as a recreational vehicle which is not being driven regularly.

Re: Exy Insurance Cost Comparison

I thought Shannons would only insure normal vehicles if you had a Classic or collector style of vehicle insured with them they must have changed .Ive been with them for many years with a collectors veh and have my town car with them and my bike but not the exy they were alot dearer than NRMA even with multi policy discount.

Re:

I think that's correct and maybe they agreed to insure the exy becasue I already have the Merc insured with them as a "classic" car.

That's a low premium, I've been thinking of changing to RACQ from NRMA. I paid about the same for my 2005 exy.
