Re: Exy Insurance Cost Comparison

Hi Pete,

Yep, you're correct, as AAMI quoted me $770/year for mine, the only thing I didn't like or feel comfortable with going through AAMI was their reduced estimate value of the car (which is less than market value) and this figure keeps dropping every year in their books, unlike NRMA, so I thought for an extra $6/month and an insured value difference of about $10,000 NRMA was worth it for me.

Hi Guys,

My exy was paid-off yesterday and my insurance premium was reduced from $86/month to $70/month as a result.

If your car is still under finance it makes a big difference when the insurance premium is calculated.

Did you make them aware that there was no more finance on the vehicle? Don't forget that the premium also goes down each year due to depreciation of the vehicle by about $1500/yr (although in your case, it wouldn't depreciate due to all the chrome bling you've added to it emoticon ).

Yep. that was the 1st thing I have done yesterday when the exy was no longer under finance, hence the reduction in insurance cost emoticon

NRMA seem to know and appreciate the value of my exy and especially all of the chrome accessories I've added, as they've added the cost of all of these accessories to the insured value, which is great emoticon and yes, depreciation is a fact, but it seems to be depreciating slower with NRMA compared to AAMI emoticon (that's just my personal experience with AAMI and I had 2 cars insured previously with them)

Cuffs must have got access to some personal info. about HARRYZELL (Brenton), so it must be correct and from everyone in the forum:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Congrats Cuffs, enjoy your sparkling new ride.

You've got a lot of home-work to do now in terms of accessories and additions to your new exy, but that will come later of course emoticon

Re: Exy Insurance Cost Comparison

WE just got our quote from racq for the new xtrail and it is:
$686.25/yr or 61.18/month

Im pretty impressed at the price. I might shop around further, maybe able to get it cheaper.

Re: Exy Insurance Cost Comparison

Worked-out to be exactly the same as NRMA in my case. Plus I couldn't see the total ensured value of the car when doing the on-line quote.

But thanks for the info. anyway, as it may help others.
