Re: Why did you buy an Xtrail ?

Hi,

I only use the "auto" feature when it rains. I find the acceleration to be much more powerfull in "auto" mode, however pertol consumption is a bit higher than normal.

Cheers

Re: Why did you buy an Xtrail ?

Leave ours in auto mode. Helps with handling and we find fuel consumption difference negligible. In normal driving conditions and in auto mode it's running in 2wd anyway isn't it? Even in the wet wouldn't it only be driving the front wheels for the vast majority of time?

Re: Why did you buy an Xtrail ?

Bought mine new in 2002 considered the Rav4 and CRV, but the Xtrail won me over, more power, larger interior, unique styling, untraditional compared to other SUV's. Other little features like the drink coolers and 12 volt power outlets. I've always driven Nissan and have been very happy with the product. I would never have considered an SUV because all the other brands are constant 4WD, were the xtrail can be driven in 2 wheel mode. We mainly use ours for daily commuting and have not ventured off road yet. Was tempted to drive on the beach whilst I was in Noosa, but did'nt have the heart to take it off road.

Cheers
Nick

Re: Why did you buy an Xtrail ?

I needed something spacious and not expensive (under $35K), so I thought about the X-Trail and the CRV initially.
I didn't like CRV's gloomy interior design, and I found the X-Trail to be more spacious than the CRV at the back, for my baby twins emoticon emoticon.

No regrets so far.

Re: Why did you buy an Xtrail ?

We bought (pick it up mid July) our X-trail for the chance to get a bit further out into the bush. It had more of the things we wanted and needed than anyother of the compact 4x4's we looked at.

We go Geocaching all the time and finding some of those suckers needs more than the current ED falcon.

We have bought a 2004 Ti-L and being the end of the finacial year we got a great deal on heaps of extras.

Just wish I had it now...3 weeks seems so far away.

Hey Embi,
I was just reading that Geocaching site. Sounds like a lot of fun. I might have to have a look at trying to find a couple myself.

Re: Why did you buy an Xtrail ?

In Camperdown mostly, but also stay in Altona on accasion. Will have to catch up. Had a quick look today for one that is meant to be on Mount Leura here in Camperdown, but no luck. There must be a trick to it. There are also a few littered around the Otways listed on that site you mentioned. They will give me a good excuse to get the truck muddy again!!!

Re: Why did you buy an Xtrail ?

Bought ours in Feb this year. My wife an I were looking for a 4wd for about 4 months to replace my S pack Commodore and to be our camping car, kid carrying vehicle etc. I sold my commodore once I got married as my wife didnt like the car as it went to fast for her. My wife sister gave my wife a list of thing to look for in reguard to baby's, kids etc from her sister. The biggest one - being able to put a pram in the boot + baby crap. The trail by far had a huge luggage area which sold us as im using the wife's festiva as a camping car and im sure that things a tardis, due the amount of stuff we pile into it. Im scared to close the rear hatch, as I'm scared the back windows is going to fly out at me every time I close it with the camping gear inside. So im looking forward to have some space.

We shopped around forester xt(Didnt like the clutch), crv (too small inside, dodgy 4wd), trail (no luggage space) , excape/tribute (no manuals, 6cl).

We test drove it almost immediately we both knew that it was what we wanted. I cant wait now for the delivery... 18 days to go..

David
