Just ring up Nissan Australia and request the letter be sent out. The dealer can't refuse to do it, they are just stalling for time.

Sorry Brett,

You've been misled. I did not get a letter, and rang the hotline number listed in the press advertisement to find out if my exy was affected (sorry, didn't keep the adv or number).

I was told that my exy was affected, and that I didn't need the letter because the dealer can look it up online. But he probably doesn't even need to do that - just has to look at the VIN.

I booked the service and it was completed on 5th June, no questions asked about having a letter.

The only point to having the letter is that it gives instructions - that you present the vehicle with tank less than 1/2 full, and that too was in the press advertisment.

Perhaps you should write to Nissan and ask them to rectify the dealer's "misunderstanding".

Sounds like he needs a little re-training so as to improve your future service relations !

Nissan Orange has been giving me grief for over 12 months now and I have forwarded several letters of complaint about their non-service to head-office. I will call again and seek some clarification on the recall. Once again, thanks.

I made nissan fix mine while it was in getting fixed after the BBQ and apparently they had the part. Seems weird to me

Well mate of course, they needed some fuel for the BBQ and they couldn't risk any leaks. hahahaha emoticon

At least they got that part right (you'd hope!)

This is just a quick heads-up to let you know that all dealers have now received the parts to carry-out the recall service.

It is a good idea to call your dealer and have the appointment confirmed (if it was cancelled previously due to parts shortage)

The recall was carried out on my exy this morning and the whole fuel filler tube was replaced with a new one.

It took them 2 hours only.

A recall sticker was attached to the door pillar. (now I have 2 of them there)

Here I was thinking that I would get a new fuel filler tube, And just relized that with the duel tank system, it has a aftermaket filler tube.

Got a call from wights nissan in traralgon victoria monday 17-7-06 saying second batch of parts have arrived can do yours now,booked it in thursday morning,should take one hour.cheers
