Re: New Member with a difficult decision
Just wanted to let you guys know i have decided against the T20 tint only because i have spoken to a couple of people at work who did the same and got that tint put on a new Patrol and the other on a camry and both have had to have there tint removed and retinted. Cops up here dont care but its the QLD Road cruise around looking for defects and apparantly tints a big one. So i will go for the T28 which is not great but at least i will get some warranty and i know i wont have any proble with the authorities, last thing i would want is to have to pay for stripping and retint.
Cheers Linc

Re: New Member with a difficult decision
Fair enough Linc and it's your decision of course.
When I spoke to Solartint and asked about the legality of the T20 and if they did have any problems with the authorities, the manager said that although it is darker than the legal 35%, they have never had any complaints about it, as the cops could still see the occupants of the car through it.
He said, should I decide to re-tint mine; they will give a full written warranty on it (supply & fit).
The 5% is a completely different matter, as it also introduces hazards when driving at night or when it rains.
I didn't know that there is a 28% option.

Re: New Member with a difficult decision
Yeah its a shame i mean i could run the risk and maybe i would never get noticed at all who knows, i suppose if i had money coming out my ass i wouldnt care. Anyway i am going to speak with QLD roads and also some of the tinting places before i give them a definate answer. Oh and one of the guys i know who got done was with that UV light gun you were talking about and the other guy had no sticker etc.

Re: New Member with a difficult decision
I have taken all these points into consideration and the car i currently own is a dark blue and i also have a white rexcel. They both sit on the drive at the moment as my garage is a shitfight, as far as heat goes i am fully aware the darker colours attract the heat but the bottom line is up here evryones car is hot as hell when you first get in. The other thing is i spot probably 5-10 xtrails a day all of them are either white, gold or grey and i mean yeah they look nice but there sorta like an ass if you know what i mean no offence of course, like you say its personal choice and i have always wanted a black car if its to hot then bad luck for me. Oh and on the tint saga i spoke to three different tinters up here and they all strongly advissed against the T20 so i will go with the 28.
