Re: Exhaust System Upgrades (aftermarket)

Hi Hendra,

It's not quiet headers you need, it's a quiet exhaust system and muffler that you should look for. There is no point in changing the headers and keeping the rest of the stock exhaust system the same and in any case when you change the headers you will be forced to change the first half of the exhaust system to include a cat. converter which is part of the headers in the factory set-up.

Can't help you with that, as in Australia it's illegal to run catless.

Re: Exhaust System Upgrades (aftermarket)

I'll have to re-read this thread (and possibly others) to get up-to-date on the currently available after-market exhaust options and pricing.

While I have nothing against them, unfortunately the HiTech system is still well out of reach financially (well it was last time I looked).

In the meantime I did a search for "dumper" and found nothing on this forum for them, so wondered if anyone else had heard of this mob (in Sydney)... http://www.dkne.com.au/nissan-xtrail-p-284.html

edit: after more reading I saw Jalal's old (2006) "T30 header's summary" thread http://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/t124790 where he mentioned the brand, but left the "N" out which is why it didn't come up in the forum search...

Re:

Well, apart from stealing my photos of the ceramic coated Hi-Tech extractors which I posted on our forum, I wonder what else DKNE have copied or are claiming their exhaust system is capable of. emoticon

I'm sure we had this discussion before because this is not the first time I see Hi-Tech headers photo being used to advertise a product that is nothing but a copy.

Re: Exhaust System Upgrades (aftermarket)

I found the borrowed photo: http://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/t124649,offset=30

Well the backgrorund is the same, but I couldn't find the same "angle" of photo...

Their one also looks "shinier".

Ah, there it is on the next page of the same thread: http://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/t124649,offset=40 - all they did was rotate the image 180 degrees for their website.

I wonder how bad their copy is that they couldn't even use one of their own to take a photo of? emoticon

Re:

Their system is mild steel so it is misleading to be putting a photo of a stainless steel ceramic coated system to advertise their product which is no where near the quality of the hi-tech system. Having said that, the price of their system certainly reflects the quality but still lacks proof in terms of performance gains and durability. (no warranty)
