Re: attn: Alan - Microfilter

It may be possible to install it there in the Series 1, but I imagine it would require fairly extensive modification to the panel(s) and also probably a DIN slot and/or brackets to be installed to hold the CB radio. You're probably better-off using one of the spare DIN slots in the centre of the dash (may already be a hinged door like the Series 2), but it wont be hidden away like in the Series 2 model.

Sorry about that Rich. Your word doc you sent got a bit mangled. The figures didnt have any labels. I've fixed it up on the site now. I take it there were 12 pics?

Are you using an Amiga ?

regards
Geoff.

Rich, I wasn't asking about the CB radio installation process, but was referring to the microfilter installation process and how similar is it between series I and II. I presume you illustration process was in regards to fitting the microfilter not the CB? emoticon

I'm more than happy with my handheld radio emoticon

Re: attn: Alan - Microfilter

Geoff, I did the FAQ on the PC... There should've been 13 photos. I do all my email etc on the Amiga to avoid all the virus' and most of the spam out there... I can modify the document and include photo numbers and resend if you like. I'd originally included photo numbers but it was getting abit messy with the way Word was labelling them... EDIT: Your Photo 7 & 8 are the same photo emoticon

Jalal - Sorry about the confusion - I did two FAQs at the same time and momentarily got mixed up... I am 99% sure the microfilter would be installed the same way whether it's a Series 1 or Series 2. The glovebox surround may be slightly different, as I know the top section of the dash is slightly different (Series 2 doesn't have the "overhang" that the Series 1 has) and the framework of the dash may be different because of this (and therefore the bottom section may also be different).

If you have a go at removing the glovebox and undoing the 6 screws behind the glovebox, it would be immediately obvious whether they're the same or not. This alone wouldn't take more than 5 minutes.

Re: attn: Alan - Microfilter

Geoff, I have re-read the FAQ that is on the site and compared it with the one I have on my PC, and there are slight differences, but not enough to worry about... It still makes 100% sense the way it's presented on the site, so I wont worry about submitting the changes. The photo numbers seem to match up correctly, now.

Re: attn: Alan - Microfilter

Rich,

I picked-up the microfilter while I was at nissan rockdale today however the part number is different to the one you posted in the "How to" on the main page.

The one I got has the following part number:

B727A-79925

I wonder if it's the correct one? It looks very similar to the one you posted a pic of.

Re: X-Trail - Microfilter

I know where the paperwork for my one is - I'll double-check the number.

Perhaps it's different for the Series 1 (not that I think they'd change it?!)

*Fitted* X-Trail - Microfilter

Hi Rich,

Don't worry about it mate, It's in emoticon

It took me 10 mins flat to put it in (this includes taking the glovebox out)

It's a much easier process on Series I, as soon as you take those 2 clips off for the glovebox and take it off, the filter compartment will be in front of you straight away.

No need to unscrew any other screws, like the case with series II, because the dash set-up is different.

And yes, it could be that this microfilter was made for Series I, hence the difference in part numbers.

Maybe you can update the "How to" section with this info.

Re: X-Trail - Microfilter

Guys,

Any of you who fitted the microfilter checked/inspected it since the installation?

According to this thread I had mine in for over a year now and to be honest I never checked it, but it could well be full of dust and dirt and probably affecting the performance of the air-con by now and needs replacing.

How often does it need to be replaced anyway? I can't remember now emoticon

I will check mine this weekend and take some pics of its condition.
