Re: Xtrail Snorkel
Ray if you can't read what people are telling you or even listen to what people are saying you probably shouldn't attempt this mod.

Re: Xtrail Snorkel
I received your PM Ray and came here to get a link to send you but I see the others have already pointed you to page 24.
As they have said it's a GIZ snorkel. It really doesn't fit the T31. It needed a fair bit of modification to make it suit. If you're not fairly handy I would no attempt it. As for showing you pictures I traded the XTrail almost 2 years ago so I can't help there. I believe the dealers removed the snorkel so to my knowledge there is no T31's with a snorkel anymore.

Re: Xtrail Snorkel
I think you have a lot of little bits from lots of posts mixed together Ray.
Here is one post describing how it MIGHT be possible to make a snorkel out of pipe with 2x45 deg elbows and a 90 deg bend.
Here is a post of one member adding a different head, SIMILAR to one you might find on a Safari snorkel, onto his Giz snorkel.
Here is a post where someone was getting a dealer to TRY and fit a Safari snorkel to his T31 Xtrail but they were overseas and it was 4 years ago without a word back.
Here is a post back in 2006 where one member with a T30 made his own snorkel out of piping with a Safari head.

Re: Xtrail Snorkel
Top of page 3 of this thread is a picture of a snorkel made from stainless tubing. You will have to click on the image link then click on the download button presented by imageshack to see it.
When you compare what this looks like and what the Giz snorkel looks like, the Giz snorkel is more OEM and a much better appeal than a custom-made stainless tube snorkel, unless you were also going to have some type of casing around it and then I expect the cost would be greater than the Giz snorkel.
