Re: Xtrail Snorkel

When you make your post in the Introductions section Xtrail Thunder, please include your location, model and year of Xtrail so we can help you more. Putting this information in your signature makes things even easier still because we don't need to chase through all the introductions to find yours and see what type of Xtrail you have. Not all instructions apply to all models of Xtrail.

Re: Xtrail Snorkel

There is no professionally made snorkel for an Xtrail and the Giz snorkel discussed here has not yet been fitted to a T31 model.
If you wait patiently there might be one soon and you will be able to find out how (or if) it is done.

Re: Xtrail Snorkel

The GIZ is on order. We will find out about the T31 hopefully fairly soon.

Re: Xtrail Snorkel

Got the snorkel delivered today. Whacked it on for a look.
It looks great from the side.
Image

Not so good from front or back. The angle of the fender is obviously not the same as the T30.
Image

Sits better when slid down the fender a bit further but this still leaves a gap.

I've made a 'bracket' that will bolt onto the snorkel with a circular section that will go through the fender and connect directly to the hose.

I'm trying to decide if I can deal with the gap. I'm thinking because the car and snorkel are both black it will hide the gap slightly and I guess there is no other option if I want a snorkel.

I painted everything that would be exposed in the gap black.

Re: Xtrail Snorkel

Todd,
Very close I think.
I like your decision to move it down a little and I think if you moved it a bit more it might be good.

Try to sit it on the angled part just above the wheel arch flare

Re: Xtrail Snorkel

Yeah I already tried further down. Any further and it doesn't sit right on the pillar. Short of getting some fibreglass mould made I don't think I will be able make it fit any better.
