Re: Xtrail snorkel link
Thanks for your reply Dez.
How is it attached from the top, did you have to drill holes for the bracket to the hold the pipe in place?
Are you noticing any improvement in terms of performance at all since you're getting that much needed cold air to the intake?
Fuel economy...etc?

Re: Xtrail snorkel link
G'day Jalal,
the top is supported by a bracket that i made out of a scrap piece of the pipe, approx
40mm wide, heated until soft and then shaped
to fit, then i attached it to the pillar with 2 stainless self tapping screws, the pipe is then attached to the bracket with 2 more stainless screws.
As for performance & economy there is nothing really noticable, exept that i get cleaner air on dirt tracks and i don't have to worry about water getting into the motor so much.

Stay tuned for something like this
Construction: Fibreglass lower part and the Safari Head top part
Can be colour coded to match the exy.
Will keep you posted on my findings.

Re: Xtrail Snorkel
Am not sure how Dez got his duct set-up inside the engine bay, but from what I have seen of his construction of the outside duct, it'll be the same, the inside duct will go direct into the existing air filter box as shown in this photo:
That's the plan anyway.
