Re:

I wouldn't want anybody to "attempt" fitting they haven't fitted before on my car unless they know what they're doing. Why can't they "attempt" this on one of their own cars and let you know how they go LOL emoticon

I don't think Safari is suitable for the xtrail, otherwise the dealers here in Australia would have started selling heaps of them already.

Re: Xtrail Snorkel

All they need to do is get a few "passenger side mount" snorkels, that are roughly the correct shape and place them against the A pillar to see how it looks.
TJM and ARB where unwilling (the employees were too lazy) to unpack any boxes when I approached quite a few shopfronts to check the angles on the T31...their loss.

Once the external form is as close to "stock" as possible, the internal plumbing is relatively simple. Will be interested to see what they do, and dont do, if it goes ahead.
If you find out what model Safari snorkel thay want to fit, let us know.
Might be better letting them "attempt to see what it looks like first" ....before they "attempt to scratch the hell out of your car, and cut holes in it"

When I'm back home I'll visit the local ARB guys and see what they come up with.

Re: Xtrail Snorkel

ARB are full of dishonest salesmen, I'm not surprised that they couldn't be bothered helping you.

I recently went into a store (Coopers Plains) chasing a new fridge. Engel being the preferred brand as I have used them considerably in the past. Surprise surprise when the rep decided to tell me the Engel were crap and that their flash new ARB fridge is the only way to go. Funny how once they've brought out their own version that the product they've been pedalling for years suddenly becomes 'unreliable, poorly made etc'

Re: Xtrail Snorkel

NOt to my knowledge of members on this forum, which is a shame as its pretty simple. I still think the Terios snorkel will fit, and still no answer from ARB/TJM etc

Re: Xtrail Snorkel

Reviving an old thread...

Kev, a question for you to start with. Do you think the GIZ snorkel will fit the T31 shape? Would it be a big deal to pull yours off and place it on a T31 to check the shape/angles?

Allan, have you been in contact with the guys in Melbourne regarding development of a snorkel recently (I'm guessing no but just wanted to check).

I contacted snorkels.com.au to ask if they have developed anything. This is the reply:

Hi Todd I have no news from the manufacturer about the X Trail kit being developed. However we do provide the multi fit snorkel kit which will fit your Nissan and it can be found on our website www.snorkels.com.au and click the multi fit snorkel link category for further details Cheers Dan

The snorkel he is talking about can be seen here

I don't think it would look great but I guess it could be made to work.

Re:

There was someone in town who has a snorkel fitted to their exy. They were driving so couldn't leave any or get contact details. Will leave a note if I see them parked around town. Shouldn't be too hard to find one red exy with snorkel in a town of 30,000 people.
