Re: Xtrail Snorkel

Hey, got my snorkel from Giz and will be trying to fit it over the Christmas/New Year break emoticon
Didn't see the sense in waiting endlessly for our Australian manufacturer to sometime get one developed when this one is so close to a perfect fit.
I will post up pics when complete.

(and thanks Dave for the help which I am sure I will be calling on later emoticon )

Re: Xtrail Snorkel

Kev, on Friday I drove up to Gympie to look at a new family car, it rained for 8 hours straight, something like 150mm and the town is now flooded. I couldnt find any water or moisture on the filter or in the filter housing (still running a paper filter), after returning to Brisbane 520km later.
Its still working as it should. I hope the install goes well for you, and just give me a ring if you need a hand with anything.
If it can get through the rain we have had up here the last month or so, it definately doesnt leak, or need the head turned around.
Cheers

Looks pretty good there Kev!

Was it much trouble to fit at all and will that snorkel fit a T31?

Re: Xtrail Snorkel

Top effort Kev emoticon looks bloody good

Scott, I reckon it will fit on a petrol T31 no worries, going off what I saw on Steves car the other week. Someone just has to be first. Doent need any holes cut in the car, to work out if it looks good or not.
If it doent look good on a T31 ..on sell it to a Terios driver emoticon

Once agaihn Kev...nice work, prepare to reap the benefits emoticon

Re: Xtrail Snorkel

Thanks guys.

@Tony and Scot,
There is a little "work" behind the outer guard to make it fit but nothing a semi-skilled person like myself couldn't handle. I have install pics which I can PM to those interested when they decide to get one of these snorkels. As it was originally designed for a Terios, there are no install instructions or cutout template for the Xtrail so some knowledge of placement and careful marking is required to make sure it sits right but once it is all bolted on it looks like it was made for it.

Thanks again to Dave "the Trailblazer" who investigated this and had the courage to do it first. Without your efforts I would still be waiting for our Melbourne contact to make one for the Xtrail, how ever long that will be ...

Re: Xtrail Snorkel

As I said yesterday Kev, if Adi Roman hadn't done this in Singapore, and responded to an email from total stranger (being myself) nothing would gave happened. The fitting is an adventure, but it does look nearly OEM when its on

So I needed someone else to do it first, otherwise I wouldnt have done it...gotta love the Internet emoticon
