Radwerx,

Not sure if you noticed my previous request, but if you haven't, can I please ask you to use the following image hosting site to post your pics in this forum (if they're as large as yours).

All you need to do is load your images there and then copy and paste the forum thumbnail code into your post and you'll get images as small as the ones I posted in your reply.

The site can be found HERE

Looking at the 1st 2 pics and the light output doesn't seem to be that high (that is if the 1st pic is High Beam and the 2nd one is Low Beam) The low beam is barely visible, unless it is the quality of the pic that is not doing it justice.

Have you changed the bulbs in your front fog lights as well? because they seem to match the headlights which is very nice.

Re: Head lights equal power of 2 candles

Jalalski, firstly, my apologies for failing to imageshack the pics and thanks for going the extra mile to re-host them for me. But, what I don't understand is why. Bcos, the images are already hosted from external servers, so what's the rationale behind serving them from imageshack (I'm just wondering).

Back to the pics, I think you may have mixed up the pics. The first one is on low-beams, the second on high-beams. The third is low-beams with factory fogs. =D Hope this clears up some of the fog... As for the brightness, I think it may have something to do with the cameras' exposures. Different cameras may give different results. Just my 2 cents. Cheers.

BTW, if u look closely at pic 2, you will see the 2 streaks of high-beam light. There's nothing to shine on, that's why they appear faint.

Re: Head lights equal power of 2 candles

Hi radwerx,

The rationale behind creating thumbnails and posting them with your posts is as follows:

1. It will reduce the total size of the thread as large pics take up too much space and instead of having 2 pages for example, with larger and full-blown images, the thread could spread across 4-5 pages.

2. For someone using dial-up, it takes ages to load and view the pics you post in full size.

It is not a requirement to do so, but I trust that members can judge the size of pics they're posting and if they can't resize them on their computer, Imageshak can do this for you and it's an excellent hosting site that provides all of the necessary codes for you ready to cut and paste.

Back to your new lights emoticon

Sorry I mixed up the large and low beams, it was hard to tell from the photos without having the commentary, now that you have explained it, it does make more sense.

The factory fogs look bright white to me just by looking at them in the pics. When I switch mine on, they do look different to the BlueVision ones and I can tell that they sort of yellowish (i.e. factory bulb)

Maybe it's just the way you took the pic, am not sure.

Looking good mate emoticon

Re: Head lights equal power of 2 candles

Thanks for the clarification. I did try imageshack with other forums b4 but had trouble getting it to work well for me. Guess I shall try my luck again.

Am glad you like the pics. If I have a chance I shall get another exy with bluevisions and get a combo shoot for you guys. BTW, the new bulbs supposedly output light at 4700Kelvins. A bit whiter than the bluevisions.

Yes, they certainly look whiter than bluevision and they're almost similar to the crystalvision Philips lights.

Mine got just a shade of blue in them at the bottom half of the lense.

If you can manually set the exposure (duration the shutter is open for) then this would be better as the resulting photos will more accurately & comparitively portray the headlight's output

Re: Head lights equal power of 2 candles

i thought i would try and replace the bulbs in the factory fog lights with 100 watt bulbs and adjust them up and was suprised what the did ,they did not throw the light a great distant but after driving in the bush over the weekend it was good to use these lights as a fill in to high beam . rob

Re: Head lights equal power of 2 candles

Tell me can the factory fitted fog lights be switched on when you are using high-beam?I fitted a pair of narva fog lights myself into the existing place in the front bumper bar and only wired them in to work when you are on low beam as per wiring diagram that came with the off market fog lights.I also raised them a little also and fitted all seasons globes that have a slight yellow tinge to the light output. In the latrobe valley at this time of year we have very bad fog and these are a must if you have any hope of seeing any thing and mine work not that bad.
