Now i planning a new version of headlights, since i've learned how to dismantle and put it back in place. Ordered a pair of high beam projectors with drl and signal shroud. Same very poor light on low beam. Later discovered that mirrors behind low beam projectors lost mirror finish due to heat. After that i decided to make a new step: Upgrade to bi-led projectors. Price for a led projector pair was 100$ on Aliexpress. I bought a defective headlamp from scrap to test fit on it and project started. Remove lens from lamp, dismantle everything and start to mock an adapter. The led driver was glued inside of the headlamp. The result was extraordinary and the headlight look from factory with no other wires than stock ones. Bi-led projectors Old H11 projectors Headlight enclosure Projector support & high beam Bi-led projector fitted Finally it was a full day work(removing front bumper, headlights, dismantling headlights, assembly of led projector, closing the headlight, install on the car, seting aim again, bumper on) but it worth!nondisclosed_email@example.com (yknot)Tue, 30 Mar 2021 20:33:45 +0000 Re: Head lights and Fog Lights Modifications & Upgradeshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2096898,from=rss#post2096898https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2096898,from=rss#post2096898Just updated the headlights on the second car to LED. I can totally recommend the Hikari LED lamps I got from Amazon Australia. They use Osram LED chips and are 9600 Lumens/set (4800/lamp). Easily more than twice as bright as a standard halogem globe and completely keep the same beam pattern and light cutoff. These were the HB4 for lowbeam and HB3 for highbeam. Seriously considering getting a set of H4 globes for the T30 Xtrail to replace my older LED lamps I've had for quite a few years.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Revhead Kev)Thu, 01 Aug 2019 20:07:52 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095719,from=rss#post2095719https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095719,from=rss#post2095719Yes for the fog lights stalk but not sure about the wiper one. It seems as though the stalks have a plug and play like compatibility as per this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51bm7_2-47c If this is the case, would I just need to get the lights, a relay and the stalk and simply plug everything in? While we're here - if I were to get a Ti model wiper stalk with the extra wiper speed settings could I simply swap that with my current one for the extra functionality? I had a Ti once and miss the variable wiper speeds - 3 speeds on the ST model is sometimes not enoughnondisclosed_email@example.com (crventura)Wed, 23 May 2018 12:40:05 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095716,from=rss#post2095716https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095716,from=rss#post2095716The wiring is already there to connect to, so all you need to do is add a relay in the fog light position in the fuse box under the bonnet and either put a separate switch or grab a replacement steering stalk that has the fog light switch from the wreckers and it'll be a direct swap and will give the factory look and feel.nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Wed, 23 May 2018 10:10:17 +0000 Re: Head lights and Fog Lights Modifications & Upgradeshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095715,from=rss#post2095715https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095715,from=rss#post2095715I'm looking to add some LED lights to the fog light compartment of my T30 X trail which did not originally have fog lights. I've had a look through this thread but a few of the links are dead and some of the images don't work so it's hard to find what I'm after. There's some cheap lights on Aliexpress that look like they'd fit and I'd be happy to give them a try. I'd like to know a bit more about the process of installing them before I proceed though. Firstly, do Xtrails that don't have fog lights as standard have the necessary wiring to fir them? or would I have to wire them up myself? Secondly, I understand the factory lights from nissan come with the stalk kit to add the switch to the light stalk. The cheap kits don't seem to have them, are they available for purchase seperately or would I have to connect them up another way? I don't mind piggy backing them to the Parker's as I envision running the lights all the time and always drive with my headlights on. They advertise these as plug and play but they are not. There are 4 wires that need to be connected into the main loom. I have played around with a few different combos and when and what turns on and have finished/settled on the Angel eye as the DRL when key in acc mode, The DRL on with low beam, and the yellow fog light on a separate switch. The only thing extra that I did is to put a relay between the angel eye and low beam so that the angel eye turns of after low beam power on. I guess if you have a working fog light loom available you could hook into that as well. These sets go for around $115Aud delivered to your door. cheers, Tomnondisclosed_email@example.com (Tomkazz)Thu, 26 Apr 2018 20:58:58 +0000 Re: Head lights and Fog Lights Modifications & Upgradeshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095604,from=rss#post2095604https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095604,from=rss#post2095604Nicely done! I recently went through a fog light phase where i tried 2 or 3 sets and finally stopped at a set i liked. These lights require a little knowledge of what + and - means in a 12v system, but are very DIY. I stopped at the below look; This last photo does not do the lights justice as they are perfect circles. The best part is they are recognised as DRL lights not fog lights. as long as they dim when low beam is turned on they can run 24/7 Happy days! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Tomkazz)Mon, 16 Apr 2018 21:03:31 +0000 Re: Head lights and Fog Lights Modifications & Upgradeshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2092683,from=rss#post2092683https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2092683,from=rss#post2092683I'm looking to fit foglights to our 2007 T30-II ST-S auto. Our T30 Xtrails power the parkers and lights directly through the stalk switch (no relays) so these small contacts already have enough current to handle without the extra 10A added to them which would shortly them burn-out. This thread is for the fog lights and headlights. If you do a forum search on "Spotlights, Spotties and/or Driving Lights" you will find plenty of information already covered in there. If you haven't done this type of work before, it is best left to an auto electrician to do as it requires running wires and powering the driving lights with a new relay. This mighyt set you back about $80 bucks or so but it will be done professionally and use the correct gauge wires.nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Tue, 29 May 2012 18:41:01 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2062814,from=rss#post2062814https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2062814,from=rss#post2062814Hi Guys, I am about to install my first ever spot lights on my X-trail and as I will be doing for the first ever time just wondering if there is anything i should look out for.  Has anyone installed them? any issues? I say "seem to" as I have only tested these twice, Sat & Sunday night, a non illuminated bitumen country road and whilst I was satisfied with them - "high beam" in country conditions and "low beam" on a normally lighted suburban streets, I will admit I was much happier when I also "flicked the switch" on my Navra Ultima Broad Beam 175mm 100watt lamps.
