I've seen a few other 4WD on the road where they have a sticker on the back window stating "UHF29" or just "CH29" indicating that would be the frequency to contact them on (but I doubt whether they'd leave the CB on while they're driving around the city, but you never know). I've never tried contacting them as I'm usually in my work car (without a CB) when I see one. nondisclosed_email@example.com (basshead)Sun, 15 Jan 2006 14:07:50 +0000 Re: The CB is inhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873913,from=rss#post873913https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873913,from=rss#post873913Brett, channels 1-8 are repeater channels & 31-38 are the reverse repeater channels just for info Cheers Philnondisclosed_email@example.com (xtrailing)Sun, 15 Jan 2006 06:10:12 +0000 Re: The CB is inhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873912,from=rss#post873912https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873912,from=rss#post873912Brett, It would be very hard for someone to miss you or me for that matter with the "twins" on board LOL Having said the above, I never have my UHF turned-on while driving in the city, so even if you spotted me, you gonna to catch me (if you can) to say "hello" On our trips, we usually use CH24 or CH25, so one of those might do the trick if needed.nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Fri, 13 Jan 2006 08:22:49 +0000 Re: The CB is inhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873911,from=rss#post873911https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873911,from=rss#post873911Jalal,  With a few of us having or getting UHF's fitted to the xtrails, I thought it may be a good idea to designate a forum channel. There is nothing worse then seeing another member a few cars ahead and not being able to catch their eye.  Obviously 1,2,18,30,40 are out, being repeater, emergency, caravanners and truckies channels.  nondisclosed_email@example.com (BRETT72)Fri, 13 Jan 2006 08:07:45 +0000 Re: The CB is inhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873910,from=rss#post873910https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873910,from=rss#post873910quote:quilpiedive wrote: Reading the thread with an interest in installing my own in a Series 1 Ti. A DIN is where your stereo would fit into. the pocket itself is called the DIN, some head units (including the Ti xtrail) are designed to fit 2 DIN slots being that size they require that much space. nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Thu, 12 Jan 2006 16:58:50 +0000 Re: The CB is inhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873909,from=rss#post873909https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873909,from=rss#post873909a "DIN" is the standard size of a car stereo single din is like a normal cd player & double din is tike the ti, twice as high as normal hope thea makes sence nondisclosed_email@example.com (Y WAIT)Thu, 12 Jan 2006 16:45:18 +0000 Re: The CB is inhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873908,from=rss#post873908https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873908,from=rss#post873908Reading the thread with an interest in installing my own in a Series 1 Ti. The CB easily slides out by spreading the tabs either side. All you have to do is disconnect the power and aerial cable and your done. I got the power directly from the cig lighter and earthed on the CB bracket. Could not be easier! I was going to make my own bracket at work but this one looks the part and was only $34. You could not make it for that price given the quality. Its from GME and the part number is MB104SS - 63mm. I haven't come across this cool antena brackets before and it looks very practical.nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Sat, 14 May 2005 17:23:12 +0000 Re: The CB is inhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873903,from=rss#post873903https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873903,from=rss#post873903Here they are. The aerial was mounted off centre over the spottie to make it easier to open the hood. The CB has been fitted directly below the Climate control. I have not mounted the mic as the unit will be removed when not being used. The aerial also unscrews easily for storage when not being used. nondisclosed_email@example.com (southeast)Sat, 14 May 2005 17:14:29 +0000 Re: The CB is inhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873902,from=rss#post873902https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873902,from=rss#post873902ok will take some pics this afternoon nondisclosed_email@example.com (southeast)Sat, 14 May 2005 15:21:21 +0000 Re: The CB is inhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873901,from=rss#post873901https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873901,from=rss#post873901You're welcome Greg Would have been good to take pics of the installation for others to have a look at should they decide to do the same nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Sat, 14 May 2005 12:52:30 +0000 Re: The CB is inhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873900,from=rss#post873900https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873900,from=rss#post873900Pics!nondisclosed_email@example.com (Mahtoh)Sat, 14 May 2005 12:43:05 +0000 The CB is inhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873899,from=rss#post873899https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p873899,from=rss#post873899Hi Guys, Just finished installing the CB this morning. Now Im live! Happy to report that there were no problems with the installation thanks to Rich, Peter and Jalal. The only difficulty I had was locating a suitable antenna bracket for the bullbar. Two local guys wanted to charge me almost double the internet price so I purchased from a company in Lake Macquarie and they delivered it in a day at the price I wanted. I must say it looks great and works very well Another happy customer! nondisclosed_email@example.com (southeast)Sat, 14 May 2005 11:50:23 +0000
