Re: Engine Cover (Genuine & Aftermarket)

It doesn't even cover the whole top of the engine like the T30 cover ... what's the point ?

Re:

Yeah Kev, the set-up of the T31 engine bay is completely different to the T30. The black bit on the right side of the engine is the resonator for the air intake which is located in the fender in the T30, so the engine cover completes the space on the right side of the engine block and forms a one piece cover. Have a look at the Sentra engine bay with the cover on. I reckon it looks odd with out it. (but that's just me, as I like completeness) emoticon

Re:

Hi Guys,

I scored a 2nd hand engine cover from the US and it's on its way to me. Missing the bracket and bolts, but I don't think that will be a problem, as it can be held in place by 2 bolts instead of 3. I will test it out on a T31 in Sydney if anyone is interested, so we can arrange a group-buy if there is more interest. I have already located these engine covers both in the US and Japan. The only difference between the US and Japan version, is that the genuine XTRAIL engine cover doesn't come with the Nissan badge on top, the Sentra Spec-V one does and looks much nicer emoticon

Sounds good mate, I am interested, always making brackets for things at work so that is not a problem.

Re:

Yeah mate, the new engine covers will come with a bracket, I just wanted to get this one 2nd hand for cheap to test the fitting process and see if it fits firmly without the need for this bracket. If a bracket will be required, then we can order it along with the covers later on (and of course all mounting bolts as well).
