Re: bigger rims WOW

Hi all

Slightly off-topic, but I'll be darned if I can find the thread that I think I read a while ago. It was a discussion on tyres and rims, and I think I read somewhere that other rims, such as Falcon or Magna, would fit the Exy, as the offset is only slightly different. Or it could have been the Yahoo group...

Can anyone confirm/debunk this, both as something that is *technically* possible and also something that would be totally safe/non-damaging to the rims and hubs.

Thanks
Brenton

Re: bigger rims WOW

My work car is a fairly new (BA?) Falcon.

Rather than jack it up and remove a wheel, I'll have a look in the service manual/handbook to see if it lists the wheel stud pattern/offset in the specifications section (as I am sure it does in the X-Trail handbook)...

Re: bigger rims WOW

Hi all

Thanks for your assistance on this one. I was looking at some current Magna alloys on eBay - I think the offset and PCD (the 5 x 114.3 figure, I think!) are identical to the Exy, but they went over what I was willing to pay - especially as I wasn't 100% sure they would fit!

Will sit back and wait for the Series II Ti mags to magically fall drop out of the sky...

Cheers
Brenton

magna wheels should fit, i used to have a magna, and the offset and stud pattern are the same

i was going to keep my 18's off the magna and put them on the exy!

Basshead, have a look in the boot & you wont have to jack up the car.
Thats if the spare is the same size.
