Aftermarket Rims and Alloys

Hi all just been checking some local prices on bigger rims for my xtrail and let me say that the price of the rims were ok but the tyres that go on them is another story alltogether as some of you might have already found out for a tyre to suit a 17" Rim would be approx $600 almost fell over when the sales guy told me this..... it seems that the load rating is the problem has anyone done the sneaky and fitted tyres with a lower load rating and how much did you pay for tyres etc...

Re: bigger rims WOW

I would strongly recommend that you don't fir tyres with less than the load rating on the placard. The 15" Toyo's have a load rating of "98". To be covered by insurance you need to maintain or exceed this rating.

Re: bigger rims WOW

I have 17 inch wheels on my X-Trail. The biggets problem you'll have is finding some narrow enough for the rear to fit. If you don't they will rub on the rear shock towers or in the inner fender if you have to much luggage (or passengers) in the rear.

The only brand available in a perfect size for my X-Trail were Yokohama AVS tires.

Sure, I only have one recent picture of the X with the bigger tires on the 17 inch wheels. Here it is:

Terranismo, the exy looks very cool with those tyres and they seem to have enough space at the back not to hit the shock tower.

What is the size of the tyre you got there?

I like your window tiniting as well, that's I wanted and the dealer tinted my car with that crappy standard "Legal" tint emoticon

WOW indeed. emoticon I think I won't bother seeing if the 17" Maxima rims would fit now, despite how good I think they would look.

(Photoshop of this in my Yahoo folder)

Re: bigger rims WOW

Jalal the truck´s right now being used by my girlfriend, once she gets back I´ll take a look at the exact size and post it up.

My dealer also wanted to use some crummy window tinting on the X. I took it to a friend who tinted it limosine with Johnson´s products.

Harry, 350Z 18 inch wheels look really good on an X. I was going to purchase some used but they were to scratched up to make it worthwile.
