Re: T30 Suspension Lift

Hi Kev,

Thanks for your reply.

Yeah, I understand the technical differences between the Vitaras and XTrails.

I was more asking if anyone had had success in getting the desired 2in lift out of XTrails in an economical way by using OEM springs from other cars, and what springs they used to do so.

I wouldn't mind playing around with mine if there were some success by other experimenters.

I got King Springs and the Inner CVs have both split the boots emoticon so they defiantly work harder.

Re: T30 Suspension Lift

I recently replaced struts and springs on my 05 t30 132xxx, I have used Ultra king struts with Pedders Trakryder springs all being standard height. The springs are 14mm thick compared to the stock 10mm so when fitted result in no sag and a higher vehicle which now handles like a (go cart) especially now I have ditched the 15" rims in favour of 16" alloys with car type tyres. my x trail is my fav driver now.

don't know if you are on here often....but you pretty much have described the set up I want

has this made ride quality much harsher?

Re:

Hi everyone, My T30 X trail has just hit 160,000km and is in for a service now. One of the rear shocks has blown and is need of replacement and I see this as a good opportunity to replace all 4 shocks before the rest fail in the near future.

While I'm at it I'm considering a lift kit to gain some extra clearance and possibly improve the handling of the car.

I've had a read through most of this discussion however much of it is years old and so prices/available kits may have changed. I did see This kit on ebay however I cannot find much more info about it. Has anyone had any experience with Webco & Lovells gear?

Has anyone done a conversion more recently?

Re: Re:

I've never used them (I have strut spacers from Superior Engineering), but pretty sure I heard the ones you are looking at are good. Expect the initial height to be possibly more than 50mm, but most will settle to about 40mm.

Thanks for the Reply, Have also seen
This kit which contains Kings springs instead

Works out only a few $'s more but it seems quite a few on here have used Kings springs on their cars.

I don't see a huge amount of downsides to doing this upgrade given I need to replace my struts anyway.

Re:

Any suggestions on Mechanics in Brisbane North Side who could help with the install?

Just had a quote of $800 to replace the rear struts and $2,300 for all 4 with Pedders springs/struts.

Would be keen to do the springs & struts from the above kits and pay for fitting.

Re: T30 Suspension Lift

I'm looking for lift springs for my 05 X-Trail. There are many options from Australian and UK suppliers, but so far I haven't found any that can ship to Canada.

The only company in North America I've found is Ironman in Oregon USA, and they've been having some trouble getting the parts in stock.

Any thoughts or leads on sourcing lift springs in Canada?

Re: T30 Suspension Lift

Having a 2005 model with MacPherson struts all round, you can use the 50mm strut spacers from Superior Engineering here in AUS. They fit perfectly with no change to the camber, give a full 50mm lift with no adverse effects on CV's. I've had these fitted to my 2003 Xtrail for over 10 years now.
