Re: Suspension Lift

The springs are in!

Did them yesterdat afternoon. It took a little longer this time due to the fact my air compressor decided to blow a gasket, so i had to do it all with hand tools. Took me 4 hours. Im getting pretty good at changing the springs now, this is the 3rd time ive done it!

1st impressions are very good, they do feel a little firmer (King claim 25% stiffer) but it is in no way a rough ride. The 20s with the 35 profile tyres were rougher. There is less body roll than with the stock springs. cant wait to take them to my test track, state forrest 10mins from my house, to see how they feel off road

measurements with stock springs and 225/70/R16 BFG's

GROUND TO TOP OF WHEEL ARCH

FRONT ----790mm
REAR----800mm

HEIGHTS MEASURED FROM GROUND TO TOP OFF WHEEL ARCH

FRONT---820mm

REAR---830mm

so it came up 30mm all round, about 5mm less than Bretts with the pedders.

Ill post some pics as soon as it stops raining here.

It looks so tough now! I love it emoticon
I'm even getting some looks from bigger 4wd's!

I took it for a spin on my test track and i was very impressed, on the fire road ( that is in terrible shape atm after all the rain) The car holds its line now with out bouncing all over the place. Although they are stiffer it felt smoother over the corrigations. My track also has some part where the exy used to scrape quite badly, now nothing!

I love the exy more than ever now! just over 2 months ago my car was lowered on 20s now its raised with BFG's. How many other cars are that versatile?!
