Re: Any Problems
Have you considered buying an ex-government one. They have a policy of turning them over after 60,000km which is about 1 years use for a government vehicle.
I got mine from pickles auctions in Sydney. Ex government. 1 year old, 60K km, towbar, auto, roof racks, cargo barrier, ST, for $25,000 (about $10K off new price). The new car warranty carries across to the new owner.
You know with government cars they have been serviced regularly, and even though there is a perception that employee's might flog them, new cars can handle just about anything these days.
I've had it for 1.5 years now, and no problems, except for the dreaded seat staining.

Re: Any Problems
Yeh i've considered auctions but their prices are outrageously expensive. Not only that but they don't let you test drive them or get mechanical inspections done, so it's really not a very good way to buy for a private individual i don't think. They want around $29 grand for a Ti 2002 auto with 60,000kms. Privately they go for $26 grand and you can test drive till your hearts content and get inspections done.

Re: Any Problems
Well i went and looked at a few xtrails at various auctions, such as:
http://www.autogroup.com.au
and the average reserve they had set for a 2002 Ti auto with 50,000kms was around $28 - $29 grand. Privately they go for $26. Car yards they go for $28, so i would have been better off just going to a car yard.
Haven't been to Pickles but i'm keeping an eye on their site in case any xtrails come up. None have for quite a while now. I'm also monitoring Qfleet and Fowles but they haven't had any xtrails either and even Qfleet have them set at reserves close to car yard prices. :/
