Re: Bike Carrier

I have a bike carrier from Rhino Rack. Its a bit more expensive than some others but very versatile.

The Swagman in the XP range fits into the 2" square hitch of a towbar. Available in 3 or 4 bike models, it allows individual adjusting rotating cradles so bikes can be carried level to the ground. Different bike frame angles are not a worry, as cradles are easy to adjust.

The 4 bike version which i have was about the $240 18 months ago, and is solid as a rock. Highly recommended!!

Mounted the bike carrier today for a trip to the park with the family. These pics show the setup of the Rhinorack swagman xp bike carrier.

Is there a bike rack number plate holder with this set-up?

Hi Jalal,
Yes this XP range from Rhinorack does come with an optional rear mounted brake light and number plate holder. I considered it at the time but was about another $90-$100 or so.

I had already gone slightly over what i was intending to pay for a good setup, so i made my own holder out of some 6cm x 6cm x 3mm aluminum angle. Thick self adhesive reflective letters and numbers were used for rego. "U" shape cradle bolt similar to bike cradle was used to attatch at back of carrier.

I normally mount the rego plate last so it does not hinder bike mounting, thus reason it was not in the pics.

Really strong setup which can tilt when bikes are removed to access the Exy's tailgate.

Re: Bike Carrier

Found this AXS Arm which is a swing arm to mount to almost any towbar bike rack to enable you to swing it out of the way.
Am awaiting details on costs, seems it may be only available in NSW at the moment.

Also coming soon, a luggage pod that will attach to the AXS arm. Sounds interesting.

Have had a reply re the cost,(hope you are sitting down)
It is $389 (cough, cough!!!!) I think I will be manufacturing my own if I decide I need it!!!!
