Re:
I got my replacement battery today. As per Tony & Jalal, no issues with changing the battery myself, ie reset any electrical devices apart from the radio stations.
I decided to get a "second" from NRMA which when I went to pay for it I mentioned that I saw NRMA advertising their "seconds batteries" on Gumtree and got my battery for $25. They also checked the battery (voltage & water) before handing over to me.
The lady said that in all her time that shes been there (7yrs) only 1 person has brought their battery back within 2days, they replaced it no questions asked with another seconds. She said from her experience the batteries last the same as a first grade battery from NRMA as they charge and test before they walk out the door.
Time will tell how long my $25 battery will last
Now I need to dispose of the old battery.
Just to let everyone know the original battery lasted 3.5yrs

Re:
I thought so as well Tony
The only thing that I had to reset was the auto window for the drivers door. A quick reminder on how to fix this bug from the DIY guide and its all fixed

WOW Samuel, that almost the same price as my LED tourch battery LOL
At that price I won't mind changing the battery every year.
Excellent find mate

Re: battery replacement
Hi all,
Just wanted to hear what the recent trending is on battery replacement.
My Exy is 4yrs old now and through this winter I've noticed it has kicked over a little later then when we first bought it 9 months ago. To the point where I accidentally flattened the battery to day by leaving the lights on for a short while.
Went into Supercheap and Autobarn, prices were about the same -/+ $10.
There are two different models, obviously one being of higher quality and price. I'm pretty happy with Century batteries and so I have recorded their two model numbers and prices. They are both no maintenance too. Does anyone have an opinion on these two listed below?
* 2008+ 2.5L Petrol
55D23L (heavy duty) @ $169 and 75D23L (super heavy duty) @ $210
* 2009+ 2L Diesel
NS70L (heavy duty) and NS70LX (super heavy duty)
Just out of curiousty, there was another model only slightly different 55D23R (heavy duty) @ $170. Unsure of the difference, but it wasn't on the list as a useable battery for XTrails.
So hopefully Supercheap will have a 20% of everything sale soon and I can pick the best Century battery up for $170 :-)
Anyone know of I can pick up those $25 batteries still?
Cheers,
Ben

Re:
Hey Ben,
Is the battery in the Xy a Panasonic branded?
If it is, that would be the original from new which tells me that I wouldn't wait too long to get your new battery.
Chances are that it will fail long before Supercheap has a 20% off sale.
Try your local auto electrician, you should go a few sizes up for that extra CCA.

Re: battery replacement
Hi Ben,
The L and R usually signifies which side of the battery the negative terminal is located when looking at the battery with the terminals closest to you.
For our Xtrails, the terminals need to be facing the firewall (opposite), with the negative terminal closest to the fender so it is an "L" type we need.
